Getting out of God's Way

I got out of God's way today.  I love music & especially to worship.  I play the guitar, harmonica, & the stereo.  A couple of weeks ago I stepped out of our worship ministry so I could actually worship.  My pastor partner is much more skilled than I am in the technical arena of music.  For the past two Lord's days I have actually just worshipped.  The group is actually doing better - they are very talented and gifted with no "rock stars'.  It hit me today as I listened to the beautiful blend of double bass violin, guitar, violin, & piano - I just needed to get out of God's way.  I was so ready to preach after the sweet time of worship.  It was better without me & I was better for it.  Pastor John's gifting is really coming out as well some of the members of the group.  It's amazing to me that I can actually hinder God's giftings by trying to do it all FOR Him.  I praise God for his patience & mercy and the gentle way he rebukes his zealous sons.

Nov. 27, 2006 - Welcome Back

It's good to see you back - yes, I certainly understand about "life getting in the way." Does this mean that your sweet wife is blogging more, too?! I'll have to check back in with her, too.

My dh, dd#2 and I are on our church's praise team. It is such a joyful burden to be trusted with leading the Lord's people to the Throne each week, but we, too, take breaks from time-to-time, and it is SO good to "just" worship. My hubby and daughter sing, but I trade off between singing, flute, Irish penny whistle and hammered dulcimer. So, it can take away from pure worship to play an instrument.

Isn't it funny that it all goes on without us anyway? Ha! :-) The Lord is good to raise up others right in midst.

Blessings from Ohio, Kim Wolf<><

YOU HAVE A BLOG! And I followed your friends list to your wifes blog!! Here are my two blogs, yes 2, I only maintain one homeschool blogger made some HTML changes I don't care for so I went back to my original blog at homestead.

I play with HTML as a hobby, (like I need another hobby) and it helped in building our family business website...I need to learn more though I can't build a website from scratch, I guess you could say I know enough code to be dangerous.
