| My friend Carla commented on my last entry about how the background image seemed squished in and the red ribbon appears to run through the sidebars at higher screen resolutions. Now, I know that I cannot ask everyone who views my page to go into their control panel and reset their screen resolution just to visit me! That would be like asking you to stand on your head and walk on your hands before entering my house... not very user-friendly! So... I've implemented a "quick and dirty" fix for now until I can figure out how to make it better. Your browser window will now be automatically sized to see the page the way I intended it to be viewed. I hope none of you are visiting me from those huge theatre-sized monitors like my brother has! Then it might make things too small to see. But if you are it's simple to just re-maximize the window or drag a corner with your mouse to make it the right size for you real computer geeks out there (you know who you are!). As I've said before, I am NOT a webpage designer and this has all been a grand learning experience for me. So hopefully in time I can find a better way to present myself to you, and I hope in the meantime you can put up with the browser-window-acrobatics :-) Also, it appears that IE users are not able to see everything here the way I intended (or at least some of you). I noticed on my computer (and it may just be one of my browser settings), that I cannot see the things in IE7 that should be in my sidebars. Below are the items that should be visible. Only a few [in square brackets like this] are visible to me in IE7 on my computer. The rest I cannot see in IE7. I don't know if this is a universal problem I need to fix for IE7... or if it's just a 1D10T error on my side and I need to change a setting in my IE7 browser to make them show up. So, could someone (or a few of you) who use IE let me know if you can see these? I am asking only so that I can find out what may be going awry and fix them for you! Left Side:I use Firefox exclusively, so I didn't really cross-test much except that my columns worked in both browsers. I didn't realize that other stuff might not work so well for other browsers. As far as I know Safari browsers are OK? I know I have a few of you visiting too... my site looks fine on my iPhone which uses a version of Safari, but otherwise I don't have access to a Mac. So feel free to chime in! (I may regret saying that... but as long as I'm at it...) Any webpage-design-savvy visitors are also welcome to give me some pointers as to how to fix all this. Otherwise Google is my best friend and teacher in this area. Thanks! ~ |
