| I posted California's at it Again... last September. Guess what? They're at it again... like a broken record... trying to pass "Harvey Milk Day" into law. Please visit my post from September to see why this is not a good idea, and check out Save California's website for information on how you can voice your opposition to "Harvey Milk Day" in the California public schools (the information about calling the Governor's office in my old post is no longer current). The text of the bill this time around (SB 572) is available here. Little, if anything, has changed from the version that the Governor vetoed last year. California already requires by law that public schools must show the homosexual lifestyle in only a positive light, beginning as young as Kindergarten. Harvey Milk Day would give an excuse to outright teach about this lifestyle and promote a hero, no less. Children do not need to be the subject of social engineering like this. Our state ranks 49th in academic performance. Let's ask the schools to teach the basics and not submit to the wolves at the doors. ~ |
