I subscribe to an email list that sends out (usually) daily little "insights" pertaining to Christian living. I wanted to share a few that came just in the last week or so, and at the bottom of this post, tell you how to sign up for this email if you want. But first, please enjoy these as I did.
A reminder that only one Person has ever been perfect... and it's not me.

At ease Christian! Stop trying to model perfection.
You can’t do it. You aren’t perfect.
So what do we model? Model growth.
That is something every one of us can do,
regardless of what level we are at.
Now, (you knew this was coming) the tough question;
Are you growing?
But imperfection is OK... even biblical "heroes" were not perfect. Accepting God's free gift of Salvation through faith in the work of his Son, Jesus, on the cross covers our imperfections in God's eyes.

Before you write yourself off as an unlikely candidate for God to work through, consider this:
Moses stuttered, David’s armor didn’t fit, John Mark deserted Paul, Timothy had ulcers, Hosea’s wife was a prostitute, Amos’s only training was in the school of fig tree pruning, Jacob was a liar, David had an affair, Solomon was too rich, Jesus was too poor, Abraham was too old, David was too young, Peter was afraid of death, Lazarus was dead, John was self-righteous, Naomi was a widow, Paul was a persecutor of the church, Moses was a murderer, Jonah ran from God’s will, Martha was a worrywart, Gideon and Thomas both doubted, Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal, Elijah was burned out, John the Baptist was a loudmouth, Noah got drunk. Did I mention that Moses had a short fuse? So did Peter, Paul – well, lots of folks did.
God doesn’t require a job interview. He doesn’t hire and fire like most bosses, because He’s more our Dad than our boss. He doesn’t look at financial gain or loss. He’s not prejudice or partial, not judging, grudging, sassy, or brassy, not deaf to our cry, not blind to our need.
God’s gifts are free.
We could do wonderful things for wonderful people and still not be . . . . Wonderful.
Satan says, “You’re not worthy.”
Jesus says, “So what? I AM.”
Satan looks back and sees our mistakes.
God looks back and sees the cross.
He doesn’t calculate how you failed . . .
It’s not even on the record.
Sure, there are lots of reason why God shouldn’t call you, or me. But if we are in love with Him, if we hunger for Him, He’ll use us in spite of who we are, where we’ve been, or what we look like!

If you enjoy short little inspirations on your daily walk (most are shorter than that second one, and usually take only a minute or two to read and reflect on), you can request to be added to the list by emailing Mr. Gene Dahler at genedahler@cox.net.
