Blog Hop ~ Three Things You Didn't Know About Me

~July 14, 2009

Posted in Blog Hop

Ah, summer.  I thought I'd be blogging more since the responsibilities of teaching were temporarily suspended, but that has not been the case.  I have been remiss.  So, I think I'll just hop on some blog memes (Blog Hop, Not Me Mondays, etc) until I can get my bloggy mojo back.

So, here is the new meme... the MckLinky Blog Hop.

This week's topic is Three Things You Didn't Know About Me.  Except that most of my "regular" readers probably already know it because they are my closest friends and family.

So, since the idea of the blog hop is to get new people to come see, I will use three "things about me"... not caring if it's something that everyone I know already knows.  Did that make any sense?

I grew up in the midwest, in a small town that (at the time) had a population of only about 2500 people.  I spent my summer days exploring the "woods" at the top of the hill we lived near, climbing trees and enjoying the coolness of the shade.  We moved to SoCal during my freshman year of high school, and have been here ever since.

I am a bookworm, although since having kids the reading time has plummeted to just about zero.  My pile of books "to read" has been sitting around for years.  I finally quit adding to it because it just keeps getting bigger!  I can't wait until the youngest is old enough (i.e. until they are all old enough) that we can all have some quiet reading time on a regular basis.  You know, without someone deciding it's the perfect time to climb all over you and pull your hair, or grab your face as if to say "hey, I'm HERE... get your face out of that book!"  LOL.  Which is exactly what my 2 yr old does.

I prefer cats to dogs.  I like dogs, and I don't mind dogs, but they are high maintenance.  Cats kind of do their own thing.  Aside from keeping a litterbox clean and providing food and water, they only require some pets when they want it, and a sunbeam to sleep in.  Unfortunately, my husband is extremely allergic to cats.  I often comment that if I am alone when I grow old, that I will be the crazy cat lady that has lots of cats.  That's an exaggeration, but I wouldn't mind having a couple :-)

So that's three things you may or may not know about me :-)
