WooHoo! The Colts have won the SUPERBOWL!!!!

We had a great party yesterday! Way too much food, and a ton of fun with family! One of my sisters even drove up from Florida to spend the weekend with us and be "home" for the Superbowl. The Superbowl has always been a big deal in our family, and it started 28 years ago when this sister was about 2 months old and on the brink of death with infantile pneumonia. It was a difficult time for my parents (especially since we lived in Berlin, E Germany at the time), but the day that she was finally well was also Superbowl Sunday. My mom started celebrating that year, and every year after she always threw a party for us kids. We have continued the tradition and this year we were finally cheering for OUR TEAM.
After going to church in our jerseys and Colts apparel (the whole congregation was blue and white!), we came home to prepare for the party which my little brother was hosting at our house. LOL We spent the afternoon decorating, making food, crafts, and posters, face painting, painting fingernails blue, and watching the pre-game show.

We spent the evening eating, screaming, jumping up and down, showing off our touchdown dances, and throwing confetti at the end...it was SO MUCH FUN!!!! AND THE COLTS WON!!!!! And then we were exhausted, and had the mess to clean up, and not even any energy left to blog. TeeHeeHee
As the trophy was awarded, I was proud of our team. Colts owner, Jim Irsay, once again gave all the glory to God, and the best coach in the NFL, Tony Dungy, downplayed the significance of he and Lovie Smith being the first black coaches to take their teams to the Superbowl, and emphasized the significance of two Christian coaches proving that they could get there doing things "the Lord's way." (For more on these godly men, see my previous post, "A Pair of Godly Coaches.")
It was a great day and I still have a huge GRIN on my face! And the girls are excitedly planning what we'll do with all the time that was previously spent watching football, now that the season is over. (For more photos click the Flickr link on my sidebar.)
Go Colts!
