May. 30, 2007 - The Waterfall at the End

I can be a very driven person. I’ve always been a trailblazer and in the past few years I’ve had to make a concerted effort to slow down and enjoy the journey. I’m not always very good about appreciating all of the little things along the path. My goal is to get to the waterfall at the end. Having my camera in hand is one thing that helps me to take note of the beauty all around me, but as much as I have improved in taking the time to stop and smell the roses, I still like the waterfall at the end best!

Visiting the falls was the last thing that we did at McCormick's Creek. The car was completely packed, and hiking to the falls was almost an after-thought. We weren’t sure we were up for it, but we were so glad we went. It compensated for all of the rain and mud we had endured. It was great to watch the kids having as much fun as I always did! The only problem was that everything was packed and I wasn’t thinking ahead to foresee coming back to the van with soaking wet kids. When we returned to the van and prepared for the hour and a half drive home, the only dry clothes that were accessible for the kids to change into were the swimsuits. Oh, the irony! Now we know, and even I will be more appropriately attired to splash along next time!

So that's where you went for your camping trip! That brings back all kinds of memories. When I was a teenager I went for a camping weekend along with Deana & Fred Johnson's family (remember them?), the Pratts, Prices, Burns, and other families from Castleview. That was great fun. We spent hours in the water, but I don't remember any of those really cool trees.

Oh Angel,
You are a brave one! What fabulous memories for your children and you. These are times that create family cohesiveness and bonding for a lifetime.

I'm glad to hear my children aren't the only one that go campsite to campsite. Liz did the same thing last year at the Memorial Day campout. My husband didn't brave the rain this year.

We have talked about getting a bigger camper, but then we'd need an SUV and the list goes on and on.
Our popout works great and we can pull it with a van. You might consider looking into it, at least you stay dryer.

ooooh. I liked the purple KEEN sandals. I'm in the market for my little girls. (used off ebay...I'm to cheap to buy them retail)

purple looks soooo cute.

oh, and the other pics were great too. I was just obsessing over the shoes.

Great Pictures, looks like a lot of fun, reminds me of the waterfall near "Rachel's"! Love the matching shoes.
