For the Sake of the Call

Dec. 5, 2007 - Winter Wonderland

The house is filled with the tantalizing aromas of hot chocolate and tomato soup.

No bread in the house means that cheese quesadillas will replace the standard fare of grilled cheese sandwiches.

Streams of the Beach Boys harmonizing to Star of Wonder, Star of Light  and Frosty the Snowman are audible throughout.

And while I enjoy the warmth of the indoors, my children are frolicking outside on this blustery snow-day.

Mean Mommy that I am, I shooed the kids back to bed when they awoke before 6 AM and announced the arrival of snow.

Now, while their classroom counterparts are struggling to focus on their studies as they gaze longingly at the snow outside their windows, my children are fully enjoying the excitement and magic of the first snowfall of the season.

This mother's heart rejoices to see her children enjoying the beauty of God's creation.

And if snow were not exciting enough, we are eagerly anticipating a playdate with honeybee this afternoon!

What a perfect day!

Throwing snowballs at me as I stand securely on the other side of the door. (the warm side)

Spunky wonders what those crazy kids are up to.  (I'm sure he's glad to be on the warm side too!)

It brightens my day to see snow! It flurried this morning for the kids and even that got them estatic!! Wish we were there to enjoy it with you!! Hope all is well there. My wonderful husband went out to get a few things to decorate, only to find that the wreath for the front door will not work, because the glass door in front of it squishes it!! And the garland for the stairs, I will not be able to plug in, because there are no plugs anywhere near!!!! Oh how I wait for my hubbie to come and fix these issues!!!!! I do so pray to have a heart like Mary right now!! And be there having coffee with one of my very best friends! I miss you!

Now that's REAL snow! I wish it would snow like that here.......it just teases us here!

Hey, we eat tomato soup and quesadillas too!! In fact, that was last night's dinner!

And my kids are happily playing too, just before I call them out to do schoolwork. We do schoolwork when Sofia, who is almost 21 mths, is down for a nap. It works better. Ahhh, the joys of homeschooling!

Thanks for the real winter pictures!

It's snowing here too, but not quite as much. On Sunday Ellie and Noah were so excited to go out and play with the dusting we got. She fashioned it into a little mound, saying she had enough for thebottom of the snowman, but that was all.

I also love the pic with the kitten-- sooo sweet! We (Ellie and I) would love a kitten for Christmas, but we aren't have been vetoed :(

Even if they had to wait a little while longer, it was so worth the wait! How happy they all look.

What a bunch of cuties! Yours girls look so cute in those pretty girl colors! My poor daughter is the oldest and with three younger brothers she often gets boyish snowclothes and boots cause I know they need to be passed down But not this year - I am going shopping for her tomorrow and getting her the pinkest coat and boots I can find for her birthday! Your photos just reaffirmed my conviction to get her girly colors this year! ( : I think our children would match up nicely - my daughter would love to play with all your girls and I just bet that your boy would love to play with my three boys! Funny how it works out in each family isn't it?

BREATHTAKING!!!

And what a blessing to be able to homeschool. I am reminded of that (almost) every day. :-)

The last picture with the kids looking in? a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e! There's got to be some kind of Parade magazine or some other photog contest that you could enter that pic into.
