The movie....

Ok, well. We were going to film it on a cellphone, with 30 second scenes...:) But we decided we wanted it to be more a little more real than that. So we decided to do it on our video camera instead.

So, we won't be able to just post it the way I can from a cell phone...

But I think that once it is  edited and done, I can download it on youtube, and then put it on here...

Sorry......we are trying to take our time to make it good....but it won't be a long movie...and I don't think we will be working on it for too long. :)

So, sorry you can't see it right away...but I think it will be better in the long run....

Coming soon...................

A movie!!!!!

It is set back in the pioneer days......heading west...

Me and Laura are going to make a movie!!

But since all we have is a cellphone, :P

We will be posting only 1 or 2 scenes at a time.

Sorry, we will have to keep you waiting.

We know what it is going to be about, but we don't have a title for it yet.

Laura is playing in that one.

When I move the camera to the right, Laura is the one closest to the camera.

I am not sure which of them is playing in that one. :)

She likes to be held like a baby! :)

She is so funny!

Here are some pictures of a big leaf that Laura found.

In comparison to my hand.

Isn't that cool?

Laura had a friend over yesterday...videos!

Yesterday afternoon Laura had her friend over to play for a while. The she went to AWANAS with us. To  those of you who don't know what Awana's is, it is a kids program that some Churches do. They have books and they memorize Bible scriptures and play games. Our Church does that so she went with us. :) So Laura and her friend are wearing their "uniforms" which our just shirts with their award badges and stuff. :)

So here our some video's.

In this next video, Laura and her friend were getting ready to leave for Church and Laura thought her capris were wrinkled and that was me saying they were fine. :)

That is all for now. I will try and post the pictures later.

I have to go get ready to leave for basketball practice.

Funny Picture

On the camera you can do this thing where it just takes shot after shot, like one after another, so this is her twirling.

Letter from a Soldier

I read this in Literature today, and I thought it was so sad. I really liked it though, so I thought I would put it on here for you all to read.

Oh, and this is a real letter. In my book, they show like a copy of the original letter. It's really neat. Maaybe I can put a picture of the letter on here real soon. But I can't now.

--------------------

The following Civil War letter was written by Sullivan Ballou, a major in the Union army. Ballou wrote these moving words to Sarah, his beloved wife, only seven days before being killed at the First Battle of Bull Run.

-------------------

                                                                                    Washington, Camp Clark

                                                                                       July 14th, 1861

My very Dear Sarah,

The indications are very strong that we shall move in a few days, perhaps tomorrow. Lest I should not be able to write you again, I feel impelled to write you a few lines that may fall under your eye when I shall be no more. Our movement may be one of a few days and full of pleasure and it may be one of severe conflict and death to me. "Not my will, but Thine, O God, be done." If it be necessary that I should fall on the battlefield for my country, I am ready. I have no misgivings about or lack of confidence in the cause in which I am engaged and my courage does not halt or falter. I know how strongly American civilization now leans on the triumph of the government and how great a debt we owe to those who went before us through the blood and suffering of the Revolution. And I am willing, perfectly willing, to lay down all my joys in this life to help maintain this government and to pay that debt.

But my dear wife, when I know that with my own joys I lay down nearly all of yours and replace them in this life with cares and sorrows, when after having eaten the bitter fruit of orphanage myself I must offer it as the only sustenance to my dear little children, is it weak or dishonorable that while the banner of my purpose floats calmly and proudly in the breeze, underneath my unbounded love for you, my darling wife and children, should struggle in fierce though useless contest with  my love of country?

I cannot describe to you my feelings on this calm summer Sabbath night when two thousand men are sleeping around me---many of them enjoying the last before that of death, I am suspicious that death is creeping behind me with his fatal fart and communing with God, my country, and thee. I have sought most closely and diligently and often, in my breast, for a wrong motive in this hazarding the happiness of all those I loved I could find none. A pure love of my country and of the principals I have often advocated before the people, and the name of honor that I love more than I fear death, has called upon me, and I have obeyed.

Sarah my love, love for you is deathless. It seems to bind me with mighty cables that nothing but Omnipotence can break. And yet, my love of Country comes over me like a strong win of those blissful moments I have spent with you come creeping over me and I feel most grateful to God and to you that I have enjoyed them so long. And how hard it is for me to give them up and burn to ashes the hopes of future years when, God willing, we might still have lived and loved together and seen our sons grow up to honorable manhood around us. I know I have but few and small claims upon Divine Providence, but something whispers to me. Perhaps it is the wafted prayer of my little Edgar that I shall return to my loved ones unharmed. If I do not, my dear Sarah, never forget how much I love you and when my last breath escapes me in the battle field, it will whisper your name.

Forgive my many faults and the many pains I have caused you. How thoughtless and how foolish I have often times been. How gladly would I wash out with my tears every little spot upon your happiness, and struggle with all my misfortunes of this world to shield you and my children from harm. But I cannot. I mist watch you from the spirit land and hover near you while you buffet the storms with your precious little freight, and wait with sad patience till we meet to part no more.

But oh Sarah, if the dead can come back to this earth and flit unseen among those they loved, I shall always be near you in the darkest night and in the gladdest days, amidst your happiest scenes and gloomiest hours always, always, and if there be a soft breeze upon your cheek, it shall be my breath. Or as the cool air cools your your throbbing temples, it shall be my spirit passing by. Sarah, do not mourn me dead. Think I am gone and wait for me, for we shall meet again.

As for my little boys, they will grow up as I have done and never know a father's love and care. Little Willie is too young to remember me long. And my blue eyed Edgar will keep my frolics with him among the dimmest memories of his childhood. Sarah, I have unlimited confidence in your maternal care and your development of their characters and feel that God will bless you in your holy work. Tell my two mothers I call God's blessing upon them.

O Sarah, I wait for you there. Come to me, and lead thither my children.

                                                                                                            Sullivan

Emma and Laura at basketball practice yesterday

Here are two videos of Emma nd Laura at basketball practice.

I don't play basketball, It is just not my thing.

I don't know if you will be able to spot them out, but Laura is wearing bright blue shorts, and a blue srtiped shirt. Emma is wearing red shorts and a white t-shirt.

Here is the one where I am filming mostly Emma and Laura, following them around, so you should be able to spot them. I know it is a funny angle, I was sitting on the floor.

That is is. :)

To all you confused commenters...

I am so sorry. Today has been a confusing day for my blog. :P

I have changed it to this, then that..then this....I can't even count hoe many times I have changed it. I ahve been wanting something that was narrower, but I couldn't get it to work cause the header would be crooked, or off centered. So I coudn't fin just what I wanted. From what you all have said, it sounds like some of you had gone ot my blog in the process of changing it and trying a whole bunch of things. It must have looked crazy.

So you all like it now? So do you like the blue for the background? What about one of the other color in the hearts? I though that is I did green it might look you know kinda like Christmas, and then with orange it would be too much and too bright but i think the red and blue looks good. What about green maybe.

I have my message box back.  I see Jewel found it. :)

So start talking!

Oh wait...

I was wrong..you can leave a comment...but you just can't get to it as easy which I don't like. You have to click on comments, and then click on leave a comment.

I think I still want a new layout though.

I am going to go look at them right now.
