Monday, April 21, 2008 - Watch the cucumber dance.....
I've been so preoccupied with the Prince Caspian Challenge (look below this post for an update on that, all you who are participating) that I haven't really posted a decent post on my own life lately.
Grant it, not that much has happened lately. I hate this time of year in a way--so much to do in such a little time. At least in school--not quite to the point where I'm finishing up, just more like I'm just in the middle of all these big school projects in the next few weeks--and then...boom! end of May comes and ti's all over and I can breathe and relax again.
Hmm, updates....okay, last week was the regional Special Olympics swimming competition at the Naval Academy. It's a great event...I've been coaching swim meets this season. It's been a lot of fun and a great experience! The competition went great--we had over 150 midshipmen volunteers from the Academy, plus, the dive team always performs for us. Of course my two siblings have been swimming for several years, and they did very well. Both did three races plus a relay together. I'm very proud of my swimmers--Stephen has made a lot of improvement this year and Lila is just adorable (I'm biased, yes) as one of the youngest and smallest swimmers there! Lila got two golds and a silver, and Stephen two golds, a silver, and a bronze.
awwww:

In other news, I came across these youtube videos recently. Aren't they a hoot? You have to be a Veggie Tales fan to get both of them, and really you have to be a Bonanza fan for the one (yes, I LOVE that show. My favorite....I'm going to be Adam Cartwright when I grow up!...)...but either way, I had a good laugh over them!

Yes, I agree. I really thought BB was too old, well I had always thought Caspian was Ed's age, but then I read that part where it says he was close to Peter's age. Still I thought BB was too old, but you are right, the more I see of him the more I realize they picked a good age. :)
I have been enjoying your challenge, even though I take so long to answer. It gets me thinking more on the book.

LOL, very funny video (I watched the hairbrush one, the other one didn't want to work for some reason...).
Sorry, I forgot to read the fine print to you for the free computer, I'll remember that next time... ;)

I do miss updates on your life, though we're thoroughly enjoying Prince Caspian!
And I'm reading it aloud to what I thought would be the 11-yr old. But a certain 18-yr old gets indignant if she's left out. LOL!
I miss helping with Special Olympics. =(
There's none in our area. I worked with special education for years in Louisiana and loved the Olympics! =D
Congratulations to Stephen and Lila!
We're huge Veggie Tales fans in this house.

Aw I'm glad everything went well with your little swimmers, It looks like they had fun and their good!
LOL those vedieos are funny, I'm not a huge Bonanza fan, but I LOVE Veggie Tales.
I like answering your questions I guess I will answer them in this comment.
Well PC's experience at the counsil was prob. suprising, He is most likely used to watching other people take control and help keep the crowd calm, (And he dose not have much experince with magical talking things.) He had to take control, He had to do the talking, and in the end it was He that all the creatures looked to for a desison which is what he will be doing as King Caspian.
I don't know I think all that don't belive in Aslan are just not wanting to belive, Seeing is beliveing for them which is not cool.
I think the contest with the P. children shows that they are as bright as the author declares them to be, and they are becomeing more the High King and Queens of Narina again.
Nickabrick is just cross and contradictory, I can not rember what happens with him, he is just annoying.

Congrats to Stephen and Lila!!!
Oh, might I ask who you recognized from HSB? I know of one, but that's all I've found, and I'm sure there's more :-).
I did manage to read quite a ways into PC yesterday, so I shall do my best to take part in the next discussion.
Till later,
