We celebrate Halloween! It's a fun day and we observe it as such. The lessons will revolve around the day and we'll also do a craft or two, carve our pumpkins and then at dusk we will set out to trick-or-treat. This year M is dressing up as a Ninja, O is a Monarch Butterfly and B is a Bionicle. And, me, I'm just gonna be a big ole pregnant mama! |

Yesterday we met a new homeschool group. We drove a little ways away but it was well worth the drive. Also, the drive was pretty with all the trees turning colors and there was no traffic; it was great!
Meeting fellow homeschoolers involves a bit of apprehension for me. But, this group relaxed me with the first two women I met. I felt totally at ease and my children jumped in with the others and took off playing. That's always such a remarkable sight. Socialization issues, my booty.
Afterwards we took off for the tour of a local Fire Station. And, what a tour it was. It was hands-on, interactive, informational and the kids really learned a lot from the firemen/woman. This was a perfect field trip for Fire Prevention and Safety Week! |
