So, I'm looking at blogging technology to see how I might use it to better help my members. I've found that while parents really like the use of Time4Learning to help teach reading and math, they have high expectations for a low-cost service (we're at less than $1 / day) that are really really high and include immediate telephone support, online questions, email support, as well as really indepth reading and math online materials. So far, we meet expectations but its been more expensive to provide that anticipated. Also, as the questions get harder and harder and the numbers get bigger, I see a crunch coming forward. Even now, the problems of bringing on new staff people is hard since the training need is huge....Questions that we are routinely getting....
- What are your experiences with gifted children in the third grade math level?
- How much time do second graders spend doing their work if this is a core part of a homeschool program? Do you have a recommended book list to go along with the online language arts program?
- How well does it work with high functioning autistic?
- I didn't understand the fractions fifth grade exercises on word roots....
While we are answering these questions (excpet for the first week of Wilma), I'm thinking that we need to experiment with allowing our parents, some of whom are incredibly expert on our system (beyond us who only created it), to help us out. They often send me interesting emails which I almost don't have the time to absorb. Often, I don't really understand the full issues since we can't be expert in everything.
Anybody have any experience with using blogs or forums to help users? I have both technology questions (I'm thinking of using an RSS feed to make this available to users) and management questions.
The service that we are supporting is www.Time4Learning.com. |
