"Ode to Spring"
Whispers of beauty
Dragonflies, racing the wind
Springtime colors dance
Whippoorwill sings lullabies
Butterfly wings, applauding.

While the spring air is crisp in the early morning hour I hang our laundry on the line. I recall the sweet smell of freshly laundered sheets from my mother and great-grandmother's homes and continue this tradition in my family. Most of our laundry goes on the line, weather permitting, typically April through September. There's something so soothing and peaceful about sheets, shirts and socks billowing in the breeze.
Do you hang linens? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject. |
