Journeys and thoughts

What a Day!!!!!

Well, this was one of those days that would make a sane mom insane real quick  Everyone one was in a less than happy mood.  My daughter chose to hate math today, but at least she did not grumble about literature.  My middle child had a bad case of the can't sit stills and I don't know how to be quiets, and of course with all of the distraction it is no wonder that my youngest child could not pay attention either.  By lunch time, I was ready for a nap.  However, we made it through lunch and I get all of the children back on track (somewhat), and then Daddy decides it is his turn to be grumpy.  HELP ME!!! With all of this going on and the fact that I am on crutches,  I had to have a quick chat with God about how to be a Godly wife, mother, and teacher. I am now taking a deep breath and getting ready for church.  Tomorrow has to be better.  Doesn't it?

We made it!

Today was our first day of studies for the 06/07 school year.  Everything went very well until my daughter (she is 12) decided that her literature was just too hard and that she was just going to skip it until next year.  I got a big laugh out of that one and with my husband's help, we convinced her that this was not a possibility.  After a few more grumblings, she decided it was best to give it another try.  Yeah!  This is the first year that I have schooled all three at the same time.  I had been working with my youngest one separately later in the day because of his special learning needs.  However, I decided to try something different this year and today it went very well.  He was able to pay attention and stay on task.  Another yeah!  If anyone has a child with special needs let me recommend using a box system to organize your day.  It worked wonderfully!!  My middle son was business as usual.  It takes a lot of redirection to keep him on task, but he is showing some improvement.  Some days are better than others.  Did anyone else start back today?

Thanks for the welcome

Hello,

Thanks so much for the welcome.  I look forward to reading your posts as well.

We are packing up to go camping this weekend.  One last mini vacation before we start school on the 14th.  I told my husband that I planned to do nothing all weekend.  We will see if that really happens.  I am sure that my children will have different ideas.  I really think I am going to like blogging. My daughter thinks it is a great way to express myself.

A brief hello.

I recently read an article in The Old Schoolhouse magazine about blogging.  It sounded like so much fun, so here I am.  I am a married stay at home mom of three.  This is our second year of homeschooling.  I am brand new to blogging, so I can't wait to see how this goes. This could be a great way to gain some new insights.
