M.2yo and L.4mo -- exploration and story time

I recently was given Science: the Search by Cornerstone Curriculumand I hope to use that with all 4 students this year.  I have not used a structured science program thus far.  We've used books and nature study and life learning in this area as the interest has arisen.  I feel confident my children have a good introduction to Earth Science already.  We do intend to start A.10yo on a structured program in 7th or 8th grade.  I'm hoping this will help ease her and me into adding science to our school.

And that's the homeschool update for our home.  I wonder how our plans will change as the year progresses.  They always do change.

Sounds like a good plan. I can relate to things changing throughout the year too. When are you planning on starting the new year? Nevermind, LOL. I read your next entry and you answered my question.

Next week is my big planning week, and I plan to start with a 1/2 schedule on July 30. I always like ramping up slowly by adding in a couple of subjects at a time.

Jul. 20, 2006 - looks good!

I love Tapestry of Grace- so far... we started in level two, as we have covered the ancients enough times already... everytime we start over with a new curriclum, we started back at the beginning... well, not this time, I figured I have to expose them to the rest of history! (as much as I love the ancients!)

I meant to be that organized and planned out with our school year by now... just one more thing I'm behind in! oh well...

Looks good, have a great rest of your summer and a fabulous school year,
ali

April, I don't suggest that anyone use Easy Grammar until they are ready to use Easy Grammar Plus. The reason for this is that the younger books have shorter lists of the prepositions, and knowledge of prepositions is the basis of her whole 'program'. We got the first EG book, memorized the prepositions in it, and then were incredibly disappointed to find a longer list of them in the next book! How in the world were we going to insert all the new prepositions into our alphabetized already-memorized list? Needless to say we all got discouraged and didn't memorize any more. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.
