Nov. 20, 2009 - Some Things Just Stay Funny
Okay, so I've written a post like this on every blog I've had. (Except the Blogger one, but I never did anything with THAT blog...) For some of you, it might be an old joke... However, it still makes ME laugh! And it's fun to find new ways to write it!:P
Do any of you ever get the lyrics wrong in a song? I mean terribly wrong. Well, I have and so have various members of my family. I'll just be posting some of the funnier ones.
For quite some time I'd been listening to song by Kutless titled, "Passion." I never could figure out what was being said in the beginning. And I never bothered to look at the lyrics... After a while, my brain strung together a sentence...
"Come In adjust this terrifying comb,
A paradox in me."
I could not figure out what that meant or how it had anything to do with the song. I couldn't stand it anymore. I looked up the lyrics.
"Come images that terrify and calm,
A paradox in me."
Ohhh... Suddenly the song made a lot more sense.
Next song... One morning Adam showed me a song that he liked by DC Talk, "Since I Met You." I was actually liking it quite a bit myself, but there was just this one part...
"I was as lonely as a man could be,
And my two headed friends couldn't fill the void in my soul,
It was a giant hole."
Two headed friends? What in the world was THAT supposed to mean? I had this image in my head of some guy at a party with a bunch of two headed friends. Very weird... I went around for quite sometime, honestly thinking that those were the lyrics. I don't remember exactly how it happened, but somehow my mom and Adam found out about it. And they were quick to tell me what the REAL lyrics were.
"I was as lonely as a man could be,
And my two hundred friends couldn't fill the void in my soul,
It was a giant hole."
Two hundred friends! Ah, makes a lot more sense now!
Now, I saved the best for last. The next song is "Loud" by Kutless.
I'd looked at the lyrics the first time I heard it, so there really wasn't any time for me to make a dreadful mistake. However, Adam did make one. One that just keeps us laughing.
"You can try to turn me down,
But I was born to be this loud,
How can I be quiet now,
When I'm believing I'm a woman?"
Whoa... One must remember that the singer is a very manly Christian man. No, I really can't picture him singing THAT! I was quick to tell Adam what the real lyrics were!
"You can try to turn me down,
But I was born to be this loud,
How can I be quiet now,
When I believe it and I want it?"
Actually, Adam's mistake ruined the song for me for a while. :-P However, now I just find it highly amusing.
I find it amazing, the mistakes that can be made while listening to music! Well, I hope that that brought a smile to somebody's lips!
God Bless Y'all!

Nov. 12, 2009 - Note To Self: Breathing Is Good!
Needless to say, I can't breath.:P I think I'm pretty much over the flu, but I've got this nasty cough and it feels like I'm suffocating! So, I've been only popping up here and there, but not really blogging or leaving comments. I just feel too icky.:P I'll try to get back to being a good blogger over the next couple of days. Right now I'm just gonna work on that whole breathing thing...;)
God Bless Y'all!

Nov. 9, 2009 - Well...
...I still have a sore throat, nasty cough and I'm really tired. I have a slight headache at times. (Like right now.) I'm doing much better than I was yesterday and the day before, though! Actually, I think everyone is improving at least a little. I think we're beating this flu! However, we're all still far from perfect... I'm still running a fever...:P So, we could still use some prayer! And thanks to everyone who was already praying!
God Bless Y'all!

Nov. 6, 2009 - Oh Dear...
Most of us are sick:( Daddy, Adam, Flash and Hulk are all sick! Flash is doing the worst. He's been running a very high fever. Momma and I are both a bit run down, so we might get sick... Wildchild has been pretty healthy so far though!
Anyway, please pray that those of us who are sick will get over it quickly and that the rest of us DON'T get sick.
God Bless Y'all!

Nov. 3, 2009 - You Matter (Hold On)
------------------------------------
You Matter (Hold On)
I don't know who you are,
Your distance may be near or far,
All I know is that there is a hurt inside your heart,
It's like you're falling apart,
And you feel all alone in your hurt,
'Cause no one seems to care anymore,
Well, I just want you to know that;
(Chorus)
You matter to God,
So you matter to me,
For you I am praying,
'Cause I know that you're hurting,
Please keep breathing,
Don't let your heart stop beating,
I know that it hurts,
Just hold on a moment more,
So we may have never met,
But you matter to me so much,
Just think how much more,
You matter to those you love,
And I know for sure,
That Jesus loves you even more,
I just want you to know that;
(Chorus)
You matter to God,
So you matter to me,
For you I am praying,
'Cause I know that you're hurting,
Please keep breathing,
Don't let your heart stop beating,
I know that it hurts,
Just hold on a moment more,
So when you heave that mournful sigh,
When it seems you can't get by,
It'll matter to God and I,
And when you cry,
It matters to God and I,
So if you should leave this place tonight,
It will matter to God and I,
And I just want you to know that;
(Chorus)
You matter to God,
so you matter to me,
For you I am praying,
'Cause I know that you're hurting,
Please keep breathing,
(Keep breathing)
Don't let your heart stop beating,
(Don't let it stop)
I know that it hurts,
Just hold on a moment more,
Yeah, hold on,
Hold on,
Hold on a moment more.

Nov. 1, 2009 - O_o
Okay, if you read the post below, you will already know that yesterday was my younger brother, Wildchild's 2nd birthday! He had a good birthday! He's so cute!
And I have officially been a fan of Skillet for three days! I'm serious! Just three days ago I discovered that they actually have started to sound good! I still don't really like their old stuff, but I like how they sound now! I think that Skillet is one of my favorite bands now!:D I'll post some of their songs at the bottom of this post. one of their songs actually inspired me to write a song, which I had never successfully done before! Kinda interesting how one song can inspire you to write another. Now if only I could set it to music... I actually haven't shown anyone the song yet. I suppose my parents will want to see it after reading this post though.
Edit: I realized that I need to fix some of my song. I looked over it, and some of the lyrics could be taken in a way that I didn't mean. *Sigh*
I went on a walk this morning, but I did something stupid and only had an apple for breakfast, so by the second half of my walk I was having a blood sugar crash.:P However, I was enjoying my thoughts so much, that I didn't mind the slower pace, I just minded the stomach ache! Bleh!:P
God Bless Y'all!
Beth
Yay! Youtube seems to be back up!
Here's "Monster." Both song and video are cool!
Here's Dead Inside.
And, "Would It Matter," which is the song that inspired the one I wrote. It's a kinda sad song, but I like it.

Oct. 27, 2009 - Umm.... I Think I Screwed Up Somewhere...
Lately, I've been playing around with making templates. Well, actually I don't know enough to make a template, but I have gotten pretty good at editing/mangling previously made templates! I think the template currently up is in the "mangled" category... Bleh! Proof that I'm not a computer genius!:P Well, I think I need help! lol.
Oh yeah, read the post below too!

Oct. 27, 2009 - I Do Really Need To Put Up An Update...
I have been kinda neglecting my blog. I also need to comment on y'all's blogs! Not to mention that I've REALLY got to make a template for this blog!:P I need an avatar too. Ack! I dunno what I want for an avatar...
Okay, well... Something to update about... Well our van hasn't been found. We're kinda unsure of what we're gonna do.
And uh, story writing is going well! I'm almost ready to post chapter one of "The Goode Vaccine"! (No, "Goode" is not "good" misspelled.) Interestingly, my most developed character so far isn't the main character. He's actually a character I was struggling with a bit before I started writing. Weird.
Also, Noah is doing much better! He's been awake! However, he just took another turn for the worst. So, he still needs prayer! And thanks to everyone who was praying!
God Bless Y'all!

Oct. 23, 2009 - Please Be Praying...
Nachoaveragegirl's little brother, Noah, is very sick and getting sicker and sicker for no apparent reason and the doctors can't wake him up. So, please be praying for the little guy, his family.
God Bless Y'all,

Oct. 19, 2009 - This Can't Be Good...
Our van was stolen! It wasn't actually working at the time, so I dunno why anyone would steal it, but it was stolen. Now all we have is my dad's car and only three people can fit in it because two of the seat belts are broken... We are a family of seven. We could really use some prayer right now! I don't know what we're gonna do without a vehicle large enough for the whole family. I know that God has a plan in this, I just hope that we can get a new van before Thanksgiving.
God Bless Y'all!

Oct. 16, 2009 - A Little Blue Birdie Landed On The Roof, And I Landed On A Strange Red Planet...
Two days ago, we discovered a little blue parakeet sitting on the roof. He was quite pretty, and most definitely some one's pet. I climbed up the ladder and got him to climb onto a stick and brought him inside. And now, we have a little parakeet in the cat carrier. (You wouldn't believe what a nifty temporary bird cage a cat carrier can be!) And now, we are looking for his owner. We've already had one person call us, but their missing bird wasn't the same one we found... "Sigh" I hope they find their bird!
Okay, now y'all are probably wondering about the other part of the title... Well, I was tagged by my older brother, Adam Brewer!
Here it is. It's rather unique...
So, you're caught on another planet... What do you do?
The conditions: red planet kinda like mars.
with frozen water deposits, and average temperature -40f
What you have: A shuttle with no engine. a half full fuel supply. a damaged and weak radio antenna. enough oxygen to last you under normal conditions up to 30 weeks. repair tools, but some are multi-man tools, and you are the only one alive.
Time to survive 20 weeks (or you run out of fuel)
try to be creative with the explanations.
Umm... Well... I guess the first thing I'd do would be to get down on my knees and pray! The second, I'd turn around in a circle realize how hopeless the situation really is. Really, it'd be hopeless. I know nothing about this kinda thing. Well, the next thing on my list would be to get a good look at that antenna to see if I could fix it and get in touch with Earth. Having someone to talk to and help me get through this would help a lot. I'd spend my first day playing with the antenna. However, since it's a weak antenna, I'm gonna assume that I can only figure out about half of the things the people on the other end are telling me and I'd be willing to believe that couldn't understand me very well either... So, I'd still have to be creative! Hmm.... I THINK I'M GONNA DIE!!!!!! Okay... Panicking won't work... Well, I'd take a heavy tool outside and break up some ice, and figure out some way of melting it. I don't suppose you can start a fire on such a planet? Sigh. Okay, seriously, unless NASA can help me, I think I'm gonna die. I just hope and pray that NASA can help!
I tag,

Okay, I've only got a few minutes because I'm about to go out garage saling with my mom and one of my younger brothers.
I just wanted to share a couple of the new Kutless album, "It Is Well" coming out in two weeks! I'm really excited about it!
Amazed
And What Faith Can Do
I hope you enjoy them! I loved them!
Oh, and the weather here is awesome! It's really feeling more like November than October. It's been in the lower 50's!

Oct. 3, 2009 - Several Things...
Today, Momma and I went out to go to a craft bazaar at a local church. We go every year. And, at least one of the ladies who sold things there, recognized us:) We didn't buy much, we go more for inspiration and to spend time together. And admire all of the amazing crafts... If you have ever gone to a craft bazaar, then you'll know what I'm talking about. I love going. It always starts feeling like the holiday season after we go=D
We also hit a few garage sales. Still didn't get much, but we did find some pretty nice things:)
Oh yeah, and the reason that I may have seemed to have disappeared, is that I have been helping with the fixing of a writing club I'm in, Inklings. I've also been spending a lot of time hanging out with the other members on the c-box... It's been fun, but I need to spend more time over here.
God Bless Y'all!

Sep. 25, 2009 - Half Asleep...
I'm so tired today. I only had about three and a half hours of sleep last night... (My fault.)
Anyway, I know I really, really need to write an entry, but I haven't a thing to say:/ Why is it so hard to come up with something to write some days, and on other days you feel like putting up several entries? Oh well, I guess I'll just find a tag to do...
Okay, here's the first one I found.
1. What is the last movie you watched? I don't remember... Oh wait, it was Ella Enchanted.
2. Do you have any scratches right now? Unfortunately, yes.

5. How long until your birthday? A little over two months!
6. Do you play any instruments? No, but I really, really wanna learn the electric bass guitar.
7. What's your favorite TV show? EUReKA, but this last season wasn't as good as the show used to be...

Sep. 19, 2009 - Hmm...
Well, I think I'm pretty happy with my blogs:) I'll be sure to put up some posts on my other two blogs either today or tomorrow. Willow and APiratesTreasure are working on my templates, so my blogs should look much better soon:)
Anyway, I figured that some of you might like to know about the things I like to do. I LOVE nature photography. I like photographing sunsets because they're like little windows into Heaven. I like story writing too. The stories that I'm working on are The Redemption of Zelknown, which is kind of a fantasy story. Minus the elves, fairies, dragons and whatever other things there usually are in fantasy novels. The problem with that story is that I can't come up with a good middle. *Sigh* The other story takes place not-to-far into the future. I'm still working on the plot for that one. I only came up with it about a week ago.
I also love music. It speaks to my heart in a special way. I think best when I'm listening to music. As I've already mentioned, my favorite band is Kutless. Some other bands an musicians that I love are Newsboys, Jars of Clay, David Meece, Everyday Sunday and Switchfoot. I wanna learn to play electric bass guitar. If I could learn to sing, that would be really awesome.
And please pray for my mom, there's something wrong with a nerve in her hip and she goes between not being able to walk and barley being able to walk:(
God Bless Y'all!

Sep. 18, 2009 - Starting Over
A little over a year ago, I started blogging. I have found that I enjoy it very much. However, as I've grown older and matured, I came to the realization that my blog did not reflect me very well anymore. So, I have decided to start over. Let me start by introducing myself.
My name on here is Elizabeth Knight, but I'd prefer it if you called me Beth. I am a Christian teenage girl, living in Texas. I am the second oldest of seven kids, though, only five of us are still living. My parents are better than any parents any girl could ask for. I'm tall, my eyes are light blue and my hair is thick and brown.
The inspiration for this blog actually came from a song by my favorite band. Sea of Faces by Kutless. The reason for my username being "NotJustAGirl" is that in God's eyes, I'm not just a girl, I'm His daughter and He loves me as an individual. That's the theme of my blog. On here, I may write about my everyday life or of things that hold a certain significance to me. I hope that you enjoy my blog!
God Bless Y'all!
Beth
NOTE: This blog will be undergoing construction. I hope to have a new template and avatar soon.
