The movie advertised on tv that it would be avalible to buy, yesterday I think.Maybe it was last week...lol. I don't remember well.
Anyway, my son seemed interested and I told him it was a book, that I'd read as a child. Which by the way I didn't know it was *christian* based in anyway at that time. But its great to know now.
So my son mentioned that we should get it and I could read it too him. I thought it was a great idea, course I haven't boughten it yet.
My question for anyone that's read the series, is it better to read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe first or is it better to read them in the order C.S Lewis intended, which I believe I read somewhere it was to be read in this order
The Magician's Nephew---1955
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe---1950
The Horse and His Boy--1954
Prince Caspian--1951
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader--1952
The Silver Chair--1953
The Last Battle--1956
So if you have any opinion please let me know. I fully intend to buy them just to have on hand, if I ever have anymore children it will be something to share with all children. |

Just read your question about the order to read the books in. I am a purist at heart so take this with the grain of salt it deserves.:) I think the books should be read in the order they were published for the simple reason that it develops a sense of anticipation in the reader. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe was the first book published and the next two books continue the story of the Pevensie children's adventures in Narnia. After that,The Magicians Nephew gives the "creation" account of Narnia and answers some questions that the reader may have. In addition,my kids;10 and 8 liked reading them in that order. I hope you find the stories enjoyable and the time spent reading them with your son a blessing.
