Well we did basically 3 days, 2 in a row and then one more later....lol.
It gets hectic around the farm in the summertime. I help dad a lot get things ready to cut/rake/bale hay when no one else is here.
And too be honest I need to get my house in order. Its just acky......lol. The kitchen table collects EVERYTHING. I want a smaller kitchen table since there's just 3 of us right now. I could put away our current one. And HOPE that things wouldn't clutter it as often and that maybe I could have MEALS at it.
So even though I had intended to start school and be done with 2 books by beginning of Aug. I doubt it will happen now. But at least I have Homeschool Tracker set up for many pages in a few workbooks. Just will have to change the dates......lol |

It sounds like you and your son do a lot of things that I would count as life skills. These are just as important to learn as the book work. We do a lot of life skills in the summer and then when it is 50 below and who wants to go outside anyway, we spend several hours a day reading, doing math, etc.
Have you read Carry On, Mr. Bowditch? It is a children's book and I read it as a read aloud to Marissa. Nathaniel Bowditch was indentured and could not attend school. The story is a story of how he "homeschooled" and became a world famous navigator and astronomer. Perhaps, you could use this as your summer school project. Read a chapter a day. Look for the places Nathaniel visited on his journey (geography), study the stars (science)...
I am with you on table clutter ~ only I move mine to an unused kitchen counter :o(
Blessings ~
