June 14, 2007 - Go and tell!
Last night’s youth service was really good. One of the things that really stood out to me in the sermon was that so many people think, alright I’m saved... I’m good now. If all God gives you is fire insurance, if the only reason He saves you is so that you can go to Heaven, then the moment you pray to receive Christ, He would take you right then and there. But, no! Once you’re His child, that’s great! But it’s not over. It’s our job to tell others about Him. Spread the word!
At camp, the tract time we took Thursday and Friday was by our youth leaders, and it was called Extreme Evangelism: They Don’t Serve Breakfast in Hell. It was really good and gave me a lot of ideas about how to witness to people. It can be so simple... as simple as drawing a circle on your hand. It will catch people’s attention, trust me! :D So they’ll ask, “Why do you have a dot on your hand?” And you can say something like, “That’s to remind me to ask you a question.” They’ll probably be like, “Ok, what question?” then you can say “If you died the moment you started talking to me, do you know where you would spend eternity?” and then you can lead the conversation from there. There are many other techniques and conversation starters. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy... but it gets THEM to come to YOU, instead of just walking up to people and saying “Are you going to heaven or hell?”
But, no matter how you tell them... it needs to be told!! We talk so often about the people in
Surrender your life to God, ask Him to use you. He will!
Go and tell!!!

Emy,
Great post!!! So true...And, yet, to some people that's radical. That's weird. But, it's not.

Just be sure that when you catch these people completely by surprise, (And that is what you'd be doing, by getting their attention with a black spot) don't slap them in the face with it. Rather, speak the truth in love, because even Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but to save the world.
Just a thought...
Also Emma, got your note on Meggy's blog about Hunted. Yeah, I know the guys (and Sarah) got to church late, sweaty, and- yes- wearing makeup... haha, I felt kinda bad for them. Ummm, Wednesday filming was kinda rough, to be honest.
Pray for us, if you please!

Hey do you know that newsboys song, THEY DON'T SERVE BREAKFAST IN HELL?
Hold the Milk, Put back the sugar
They are powerless to console
We've gathered here to sprinkle ashes
from our late friends cereal bowl.
Breakfast clubbers say the motto
that he taught us to repeat
"You will lose it in your gym class if you wait till noon to eat"
Back when the chess club said our eggs were soft
Every Monday he'd say grace and hold our juice aloft
Oh none of us knew his check out time would come so soon
but before his brain stpped waving he composed this tune
Chorus:
When the toast is burned
And all the milk has turned
And Captain Crunch is waving farewell
When the big one finds you
May this song remind you
That they don't serve breakfast in hell
Breakfast clubbers drop the hankies
Though to some our friend was odd
That day he bought those pine pajamas
His check was good with god
Those here without the Lord
How do you cope
For this morning we don't mourn
Like those who have no hope
Oh rise up Friut Loop lovers
Sing out sweet and low
With spoons held high
We bid our brother "Cheerio"!!!
It's a really catchy tune too!
