June 7, 2008 - Crucify my desires, all that I claim as my own...
Hi everyone,
Don't have a ton of time to write but I wanted to let you know that I'm back from camp. It was a great week and I wasn't ready to leave. I believe God really did great things, in our group and in the whole camp. He really spoke to me in so many ways; through Mike Keahbone, the camp pastor this week, through Craig and Addey King and their band (the worship leaders), through our wonderful youth group leaders and other sponsors, through my tract time leader, through my friends and fellow campmates, and through His word. Although I can't tell you definite things He did, I know He was working. I know there were a lot of salvations, recommitments, and changed lives in the camp this week, several in our group.
Quick review of the week...
Monday we all met at the church and got everything ready and loaded, then headed out. When we reached Kiamichi (don't ya just love that unpronouncable word? lol) we all chose our bunks and got settled, had a meeting, then we were free to do whatever. I uhh... walked with MellyBelly to the prayer garden which is awesome and sooo pretty. It's old and getting worn down but it's really neat. There's wooden pews facing a platform which has a cross, an angel, and a sign that reads... something about the hills echoing something? I can't remember. It overlooks woods and hills in the distance and is such a pretty sight. Late afternoonish we got word that we couldn't shower or use the sinks or anything b/c the camp was having a problem and in order to fix it needed us to not put water down the drains. As you can imagine no one was too happy about the situation. We just hung out and stuff until dinner then got ready and went to service, had cabin devos, and went to bed.
Tuesday it was early rising for no showers and breakfast, meeting with our sister church from Gentry and splitting up into prayer groups with them, going to service, eating lunch, getting all crazy for rec, eating lunch, hanging out and watching basketball and volleyball games, at which we got word that we could finally shower, dinner, service, cabin devos, bed. Tuesday afternoon my eyes started bothering me and were hurting real bad and I figured that dust had blown into my eye and scratched it b/c of my contacts. I took the contact out of the eye that was bothering me the most and our cabin nurse, Ms. Tammy, patched it for me and said it should get better if I left it on for about 24 hours.
Wednesday we had breakfast, signed up for tract times (which are classes, btw), and went to tract time. Lady and I took Defending Your Faith. It was really good. There were eleven or twelve people not including the leader, and all but two and the leader were from our group, so the get-to-know-each-other game at the beginning didn't do us much good, lol. Then the leader did a game thing for an example, he sent Joel and another guy to a different room and told us the rules. The two guys were salesmen and had to try to "sell" us the product, but they wouldn't know what it was, only we would. So we would ask questions, such as "Does it smell good?", "Would you eat it?", "Does it last forever?", "Can you reuse it?", and so on and so forth, and they had to answer them without knowing what they were talking about. The product was a roll of toilet paper. It was pretty funny but really good to show that we can't sell something we don't know about, that's why you have to know what you believe before you can share your faith. Then we got into apologetics a little. After that we went to service and then lunch, rec (which I couldn't play b/c my eye was still bothering me and was still patched so I took pics for BritterBear with her camera), hangin' out, dinner, service, cabin devos, bed. (yeah, you're starting to get the routine down. lol) Actually after service that night Mr. Les and Bro. Tim took me to the camp nurse b/c my eyes were still really hurting but she didn't know what was wrong with them either so we went back and our cabin nurse helped me rinse it and patch it again.
Thursday we had breakfast, tract time again which was really good again, service, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know it all. Actually you don't, b/c we had ropes course instead of rec that day and even though I couldn't do it it was fun watching. My eyes still hurt so we kept the worst one patched. After the evening service we had cabin devos then went back for the midnight service which was really cool, Voice of the Martyrs were there and called a brother in Christ who is from... unfortunately I don't remember, but it was another country and he had been persecuted for Christ and he talked to us, and they told us about some other persecuted Christians and handed out bookmarks with reminders to pray for different countries and then we split into prayer groups and prayed, then headed back to the cabins and took precautions for the tornado that was supposed to hit and Lady was kind enough to let me sleep with her since she knows I'm terrified of storms, and you better believe I was praying hard all night but it didn't even rain, praise the Lord!
Friday we got to sleep in, then had breakfast, service, etc, etc. Stuphy and I didn't play rec so we talked. We had all the regular, although it was sad being the last day. At the evening service they gave out the awards and we won a spirit stick which we pretty much expected since we won a spirit stick for each day that we did rec. Our Senior high boys placed first in basketball if I'm not mistaken and I think we had some other teams place. I slept with Stuphy and we surprisingly didn't laugh too much (we have a disorder where we can't even sit by each other in church w/o laughing).
This morning we got up and packed and did a lot of cleaning and then left. *sniff* So sad. I took a nap when I got home though and I'm still really tired. My eyes are doing better so hopefully they'll be fine and I won't have to go to the eye dr. Monday.
This was a good year, but a year of injuries for us. We weren't there but two or three hours before someone had to go the emergency room for a bad splinter under their fingernail and after waiting and waiting they weren't able to get it out, but he did get it out after a day or two. We had another boy sprain his collar bone playing football. We had scraped knees and I cut my hand on some rocks. Stuphy tripped in the dark and hit her eye on a root, and there was my whole eye situation. Two people sprained a toe. There was perhaps more but that's all that will come to me right now. It's almost funny, lol.
Well I better go. Tomorrow we have church and then we're meeting early to practice a song that we sang at camp that some of the guys picked out on the guitar and some of us are singing, including me, for the evening service since it's camp-focused. It should be pretty cool.
Oh, and I have an accomplishment!! I learned to play ping-pong (sorta) thanks to "Ebenezer" forcing me to learn. lol They're still trying to teach me chess but it's not going so well. Oh and I learned to play the card game speed which is awweessoommee!!

Hello all,
Tuesday HannahElizabeth got her wisdom teeth removed and is recovering and doing pretty well.
Wednesday... man, I can't even remember. Oh yeah, I worked on school, washing, ironing, and packing clothes for camp, making cookies for church, then went to church. It was good... and Jazzy gave me a stuffed dolphin from Sea World!!! <3 (I think Meggy and I dubbed it Braleigh).
Thursday HannahElizabeth, Liza, and my mom got haircuts. HannahElizabeth donated hers to Locks of Love so it's really short! Cute, though. Then we had contacts check-ups and went to WalMart, then came home and Jazlynn came over and we made a pie that we called Mellow-Reeses pie. Very good, very rich. It was some sort of crust she made, then a peanut butter filling stuff I made, then melted marshmallows, melted chocolate, more melted marshmallows (say that five times fast), then melted chocolate and peanut butter. yum! We watched Princess Diaries 2 then went to bed and talked till about 1. Oh, and HannahElizabeth is in charge of the skits for our church's VBS this year and I get to be in them. I play a rather ditsy, blonde girl. lol It'll be fun, I'm excited. Jazzy is in it also, so we read through it a little.
Friday we had to get up at 6:30 (that's a sin! I almost NEVER get up that early!) and "Sweet-T" and Sarah came over and we took them to go ice skating with a bunch of other homeschoolers. It was fun, except I'm sore from falling. I sat down hard once, and another time I fell forward and smacked my chin on the ice pretty hard - ouch! Still hurts pretty bad. Then we ate lunch there and the guys played basketball and Sarah and I walked and talked. Then we (me, my family, Jaz, "Sweet-T", and Sarah) went to a couple stores then came home and they left.
Today we went to the oldest J.O.'s wedding. Funfunfun! Very pretty, very sweet, and very them. Cool. Then we went to Atwoods and WalMart and I ate pudding in the car while talking to Toria on the phone (I'm talented) and came home and talked to Meggy while I almost fell asleep, lol, then went and walked.
Tomorrow is church. MONDAY IS CAMP!!!!!! wahoo!!!

Songs are awesome. They can make me happy, sad, excited, freaked out... they can make me laugh, cry, smile, frown, whatever. lol I'm weird. Sorry.

May 26, 2008 - Time flies by
Well now the long-awaited days have come and gone. I guess I said that I hung out with Meg Monday, Tuesday was HannahElizabeth's birthday and we went shopping and I got a cell phone and we went out to dinner (she drove from our house to Fort Smith but I wasn't in that car, thankfully, lol) Wednesday HannahElizabeth wanted to go shopping with her friend so we took Meg and we spent three hours and fifty cents in the mall. lol
Thursday we saw Prince Caspian and it was lovely, as I said.
Friday was the wedding!! wahooo!!! It was lovely, and everything was so pretty, and the ceremony was so sweet and I cried, and I got to wear a corsage and help serve punch and take home candles and flowers!! We came home and ate pizza after helping clean up, and Meggy spent the night. We watched STAR WARS: Episode 4, A New Hope. Twas my first Star Wars. It was pretty good... some of it was kina lame and some was hard to follow but I liked it ok. We also watched Princess Diaries 1 which Meggy hadn't seen and she likes it. And we didn't get to sleep until.... early. REALLY early. Let's just say we only got 2 1/2 hours of sleep that night (er, morning).
Saturday my Mom took me, Meggy, and Sarah to a girls swap party where we brought stuff we didn't want and went through everyone else's. Pretty cool and I got some neat clothes. Then Meggy's mom took me and Meggy to the Hart's house where their daughter Emily had even more clothes for us to go through! Then we left for the Wingy's house where there was to be a big teen get together and it was tons of fun although I got picked on terribly and didn't feel entirely well b/c of sleep loss. Then we spent the night at the Hart's (5 hours of sleep this time) and went to church at Meggy's old church in the morning, then got to watch Lady get pied and went to Lady's house for pizza. Funfunfun!!! Then mom came to pick me up. *sniff* So I had to tell Meggy goodbye again. *sniff* And I prolly won't see her for a year. *sobs*
Today (once I finally got up) I've been working on school, cleaning my room, packing for camp, doing laundry, and I went walking. That's about it. Oh, HannahElizabeth is getting her wisdom teeth removed tomorrow so pray for her!

May 18, 2008 - The flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today.
Have you ever noticed how few people are on HSB on Sunday mornings? LOL
Btw, everyone, check out my awesomely awesome playlist! Just a random command. It's so cool. I can listen to Hawk Nelson sing of his affection for me, then Carrie Underwood, Barlow Girl, Celine Dion, Skillet, Amy Adams... I love it! ;)
Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated. This week has been sooo busy.
Sunday my sisters and I got up early and made breakfast and stuff before church, so that was cool.
Monday we went to the Cinderella Ballet, which was pretty cool, and then my sister had to practice the song she was singing at the band concert with the band, then we left and got something to eat since it was our only chance, then went back to the church for choir practice, left to run some quick errands, went back to the church for the concert. It went ok, I guess. I hope.
Tuesday my sisters sang for the 4-H Talent O'rama, and HannahElizabeth placed 1st in senior vocal and Liza placed 1st in junior vocal, so they'll get to go on to district.
Wednesday Sarah's family took me to help Lana with some stuff for the wedding, so that was a lot of fun. Then they took me to church and I rode Jazzy's ripstick around the ping-pong table while looking at someone's school yearbook (it was the one from the town that I went to church in for 12 years, so I know everyone and it was cool). Then HannahB. came with her cousin who goes to our church, so that was awesome since I don't get to see her much.
Thursday... oh, yeah, Thursday I got contacts! It took me a while to get them in, then I had to take one out and put it back in. Then we had to leave and go to the same church that the choir concert was at, this time for the band concert (choir was singing three songs there). I had planned to take the contacts out before the concert since I wasn't very used to them and between the contacts and the new perscription, I had a headache, but then I decided that I wouldn't be able to get them out in time, at least not without my eyes being all red. The concert went pretty well. I was just bummed that the choir didn't get to wear the cool hats like the band did. :P
Friday Sarah's family took me to a blessing thing for Luke and Lana where Sarah and I got to serve, it was fun!
Saturday (yesterday) we went to the HEART graduation, that was cool. And, I (finally!!!) talked to Meggy (for an hour and 45 minutes). yay! 15 1/2 hours!!! wahoo!
Today I have church, then come home for a few minutes, then go back to church for Megan's wedding shower and then practice with HannahElizabeth and her "graduation band" b/c they're singing the same song they sang at graduation but some of the girls can't make it so I have to sing with them, then we have discipleship hour, and then church.
Sorry I can't write anything more interesting. I've gotta finish getting ready for church... and I'm sure my straightner is hot now.

May 3, 2008 - Wanna buy a duck?
Oh wow, I really haven't posted in a long time, and boy, do I have a lot to post about!!
Ok, so I last posted on the 24th of last month, right? Let's see. The next day I went with mom and HannahElizabeth to help decorate the church for her graduation. We were basically there all day, with the exception of going to eat with our grandparents, aunt, and cousins. Then we went back for graduation rehearsal. That Saturday, the 26th was HannahElizabeth's graduation. It went well, and we all cried. ;) I can't believe she's graduated. Wow....
Sunday after church our grandparents, aunt, and cousins came over for the afternoon, then our aunt and cousins left. Monday we had choir. Tuesday Jazzy came over and we rode the ripstick and then she left it with me to bring to her Wednesday, then we went to the movie theater where a bunch of us all got together to go see Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. It was pretty good... some of it was sad, some of it was funny, and some of it was boring. So boring. So boring I don't even want to think about it, I would be so bored! :P LOL Sorry you have to have seen the movie to know why I wrote that. So anyway that was fun. And Jazzy took pics of me with Patrick Demsey and me kissing Prince Caspian, lol. I tried to send them to my computer but they haven't come in so you're spared from seeing them. :P Oh and Jazzy and I got puppies! They're so cute, her's is a black dog named Eugenie, and mine is a white one named Benny. They're about half an inch tall. LOL And made out of plastic. But they are cute. Even though poor Benny almost died when my "brother" dropped him on the pavement. Then some of us went for ice cream.
Wednesday morning we decided we were going to go to Branson, so we spent all morning/early afternoon packing and getting ready to go (well, ok, I'll admit I spent most of the time riding the 'stick and ended up forgetting a bunch of stuff, lol) and left about 2:30 or so... we stopped by Jazzy's house to drop off the ripstick and some eggs, and there I met my dog, Stuey. LOL It's Jazzy's family's new dog and he likes me so they said he's mine. ;D When we got to Branson we shopped around a little, ate dinner, and got into the hotel. Thursday we went into Silver Dollar City, it was a lot of fun. We saw the Irish, Chinese Acrobats, Scottish, and part of the Uganda Childrens shows, and got to ride most of the rides. We drove home Thursday night and got home about midnight.
Yesterday we moved my bookshelves into my room! Quick background story: we've lived here over two years, and bought these shelves at least a year ago, but never got around to painting them so I've been living with several Rubbermaid tubs in my closet... not very convenient in a walk-in closet that is only two foot deep. So anyway when my grandparents were here they helped me paint them and yesterday my dad moved them into my room and I've started decorating them! yay! Then we went to the highschool fellowship. There was a good turnout... and to everyone who didn't come, you should have! You missed out on Joel's wonderful song about Marc. lol and a good Bible study and lots of fun. But Coley has to tell me how her song went b/c I didn't get to stay to hear it.
Ok, well that catches you up on my busy life.

April 24, 2008 - The reason is you.
The busy-ness never stops. Let's see... after playing with Jazzy on Sunday and hurting my back on the trampoline... :P
Monday we had choir. We've taken all our music home and trying to memorize all 10 songs. The band and choir concerts are in three weeks, I think. I think I have most of it down okay, but I do so much better when I can follow along with the music... which is sorta ironic since I don't actually read music. ;) Then we dropped Hannah off to go home with her friend Cassie again, and went grocery shopping.
Tuesday I did school and stuff and we went to pick Hannah up.
Yesterday after school we had church. Jazzy didn't bring her ripstick. :( We had a really, really good service though. Great worship time. Chris preached a really good, convicting, motivating message on hell and witnessing. Wow -- how can we go about our lives every day and not think about all the people around us who are lost? How can we not care enough to tell them? It's so easy, it can be a simple thing. You don't have to go around preaching the gospel to everyone you meet (although that would be great), just a simple word or comment can be a witness. What stops us? It's not very time consuming or hard. What are we afraid of?
Today I've been working on school... I've finished my math and spelling books for this year, and I finished literature in mid-February and I've been crunching on the next book, I'm about halfway through and hope to finish it by the end of this school year. I'm studying for final exams in Science and geography and finishing up my other literature program and the writing workshop. My grandparents came in today. Tomorrow my aunt and cousins are coming. I'm going with mom and Hannah to the graduation decorating/rehearsal, so that should be kina fun. I'm gonna film some of them decorating and of the song rehearsal. Saturday is her graduation.... wow. I can hardly believe it. I'm gonna film some of that, too.
24 days till Meggy comes!!! YAY!!! I am so super excited I can hardly wait!
I've been thinking lately about eating healthier... thinking, I said, not necesarily doing. lol We're not exactly the healthiest eaters. We don't eat a lot of junk food, we just don't eat a lot of vegetables or meat. Mostly carbs, lol. We eat some fruit. We have the best fruit dip recipe, and it's oh so hard to make: cream cheese and marshmallow cream. It may not sound all that good but it is!! Try it.

Jazzy came over today after church and we had fun. We street surfed, pogo-sticked, trampolined, took a visit to my cave, swang (is that a word?), sang, watched American Idol vids, and... yup. Oh, drank root beer. :P And diet coke with lime. Anyway, here are some pics of the ripstick...
