Jul. 27, 2005 - Only two weeks left

I just realized today that I only have a little over two weeks left to babysit my granddaughter before she starts back to school (she goes to Christian school). So in two weeks, my "homeschooling" will be over and most of yours will just be starting!

It's a lot different "homeschooling" your granddaughter, especially when you only have to do the fun stuff. I've enjoyed it tremendously, although my 55 year old body definitely got exhausted from all the activity! She certainly does have a lot of energy.

Today, we went on a hike at Red Bud. We walked over three miles and climbed a lot of small cliffs and rocks. She found a piece of rock with fossils in it which was the highlight of her walk. We didn't see any animals other than a few snails and insects but it was a good walk and a nice cool day for Oklahoma - only 82 degrees. I hope the cooler weather continues and we get a few more walks before her school starts. I sure will miss her.

How Awesome! What fun!
It'sbeen in the 90s here. It just cooled down yesterday-lots of rain. And we have lots of appointments today. We need to go for a hike tomorrow. It should be cool enough!

What a fun summer you've had with your granddaughter. Do you take pictures? What a cool scrapbook that would make.

Aug. 3, 2005 - Grandchildren Really Are

I, too, know the joy of homeschooling grandchildren. I have had my almost six-year-old grandson three or four days a week for the last year and a half while Mom has been working. He is also going away to school, starting August 13. I will miss him but have many memories and photos of our time together. (I am glad I will get him a few hours after school each day.) I am sure you feel the same about your granddaughter. We are so blessed to have them.
