Here's a fun way to review parts of speech - it's call Wacky Web Tales. I remember these in booklet form that we used to love to do. You write in nouns, adverbs, adjectives, etc. and it makes a wacky story. Now you can do it online! http://www.eduplace.com/tales and http://www.nationalgeographic.com/ngkids/games/wildandwacky/. Here is my wacky story:
Road Trip! One day my Uncle Bill and my Aunt Cindy said they would take me and my sister Shelly on a trip to Utah. You will love Utah, said Aunt Cindy. It is famous for its wild lizards, its green flowers, and its beautiful stalking hills. I hope you packed plenty of tomatoes for the ride, said Uncle Bill. It will probably take us 503 hours. So we all piled into Uncle Bill and Aunt Cindy's Tin Lizzy. At first the trip was really rusty. We sang 2 Bottles of grape juice on the Wall. Then we counted the boxes that we saw stretching in the fields by the side of the road. But after 19 hours we had eaten all the tomatoes and Shelly was getting gritty. Are we almost there? she asked slowly. Yes, dahlink, said Aunt Cindy Just then I saw a sign that said, Orlando: 2 miles. Umm, Uncle Bill, is Orlando on the way to Utah? I asked. Yeah, said Shelly, pointing, and is the Washington Monument on the way to Utah? Yikes!, kids, laughed Uncle Bill. You can trust the expert. One thing's for sure, I muttered. I don't think we're in Oklahoma any more.
