April 10, 2008 - Dustfinger the Lifeguard?!Apparently he thought being a lifeguard at the YMCA might pay better than being a fire-eater.Okay, if you haven't read the books Inkheart or Inkspell, then you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. In a nutshell, Dustfinger is the most cool character in a book ever, who the movie of Inkheart will most likely change a lot. So don't trust it if you haven't read the books. Anywaaay...he's a poor fire-eater who was somehow read out of a book, and he really wants to get back to his own world. But I won't spoil anything else about him, in case you haven't read the books. And you probably haven't, because only people who haven't read them need to read this. Now I'm rambling. Back to the real story. So I was swimming in the pool with my younger brother (known as Kung Fu Kid on HSB) and one of my best friends, Tea Party Girl, when we noticed that the lifeguard looked exactly how we all picture Dustfinger looking like. So I decided to sort of spy on him as much as I could without being noticed (so a mental image of how he looks would form in my head, so that I could draw him as Dustfinger --- although I think I'll omit the Hawaiian swim shorts xD). Alas, after a few minutes he switched shifts and another lifeguard took over. But, fortunately, I had seen the time of when he came there and when he left. (It was from 5:00 or so to 6:30, I think, on a Wednesday.) So this Wednesday I'm going to try to go to the YMCA pool again and see if he's there, because besides his hair I've almost completely forgot how he looks like now. And if I forget, how will I ever draw Dustfinger?! It's so annoying when you see someone who looks exactly like a character in a movie/book in real life, but you only see them once and that's it! I know I'll be a stalker, but I have to! O_O |

Hehe... Eni the stalker? It has a nice ring to it! ;) Seriously, though, I know just how you feel. It's so cool when you find someone who fits your mental picture so perfectly. A while ago we had a guy stay at our house who looked incredibly Numenorian, or maybe a little Maglor-ish. It was incredibly cool.
Yes, your brothers are surprisingly alike, aren't they? Both very scary! ;) If your brother's anything like mine IRL, I pity you!
Great hearing from you!
