December 23, 2008 - Up late

Sitting at the desk
Where is my inspiration?
The page remains blank

I wrote a haiku expressing my lack of muse.  It seems like whenever I try to draw or write, it ends with a trashcan filled to the brim with scribbled-up papers.  I've thrown so many papers in that I can now toss them over my shoulder and they'll usually land - plunk! - in the trash; but I guess that's not something to be very proud of.  If Kobu was in sight, I would grab him by the collar and make him inspire me...somehow.  The problem is, he's not even in sight.  (Probably hiding in a closet to escape my rage!  Y_Y)
The rats just squeaked furiously and made me jump.  Martin, the youngest and most shy of the three rats, had pinned Christoff, the rambunctious one, down.  That was unusual.  I walked over to the cage, 'pssssst!' at them (that always makes them keep quiet), stroked their fur and told them to stop.
Tinuviel has entered the room after having a pleasurable, warm bath.  She seems to be in a good mood, although I am sure all my family is tired.  It is, after all, 11:55 PM.  I surprise myself at how late I'm staying up, and seated in front of a computer, at that!  That's the thing I despise people doing, unless they're on the computer so late because they are working (like my dad does the night before Sunday - he always has his sermon to work on).  I'm such a hypocrite!  (And yet, I stay on; my fingers continue to type.)
I can't believe I haven't mentioned this yet, but my mom's fiftieth birthday was today, on what we call 'Christmas Eve Eve' (because it's the day before Christmas Eve).  It was probably her best birthday ever.  Breakfast in bed in the morning, served by Mister Cool; a nice back massage from yours-truly after that; birthday cards and gifts from us kids; a taco dinner; and soon after, cake (made by me) and ice cream with Maddie's family.  A jolly old time.
It has snowed all day.  Tinuviel went out in it after the guests leaved.  She held her new, black umbrella over her while the snow kept falling, a thing she'd wanted to do since she got it.  I was about to go out and walk around with her, but I had to clear the table since it's my job this week.  No fun in the snow for me.
I think the snow has stopped now.  The men - by that I mean David, Jonathan, Mister Cool, and my dad - had shoveled earlier in the day, and now it's all covered up again.  At least it was something.
Oh, yes - I forgot to mention my family's van broke down yesterday night.  (I'm very forgetful right now, huh?)  There's been a lot of trouble so far, but we left it at some car-repairal place and my mom's supposed to pick it up tomorrow morning.
I still haven't had the chance to get Maddie a present yet.  I know what to get for her, but we haven't gone out.  And like I said above, tomorrow's Christmas Eve!  I'd also like to send my friend, Hannah, a Christmas card, at least.  Last time I got in touch with her was when I phoned her on her eleventh birthday; that was in September.  Even though Nimrodel is mainly Tinuviel's friend, I'd still like to get her a little something, too.  Maybe I can draw a picture of one of her characters?  I have a feeling she'd be glad to get that.  (Nimrodel, you had better not be reading this.  D8)  Daydreamer, too...what shall I get for her??
I'm panicking.  I can tell because I used two question marks up there and the little panicking face that I do when I get, well...panicky (D8).  Sometimes Christmas drives me crazy.  Tinfoil, too - I discovered that earlier.
I could write more, but I shouldn't.  Poor Tinuviel is having to bear with me.  At least she doesn't mind too much; she has her nose in a new library book.  Is it really 12:19 PM?!  Panicking, again.  Question marks plus exclamation points equals total panickness.  I'll write later.  Farewell!  Adios!  Good-by; or rather, 'good-night'.
-a very confuzzled and panicky Enilarwyn

. . .

(I'm not tired, not the least bit.  Did I have chocolate today?  I had chocolate cake.  But I was too full for most of it.  Did I have a lot of caffeine?  No, not really...gah!  ?!?!?)

PS (and last thing, really!) - I just noticed that since it is past midnight...today is Christmas Eve!  Or should I say, 'tonight'?  Yay.  I guess?
Please share your thoughts!
