Bayberry Cottage
• Jul. 2, 2009 - Car Comparison Shopping - July 2
Cool and cloudy, high of around 68 degrees, hovering closer to 60 much of the day. We drove down to Pinconning and Bay City to test drive cars. I drove two Outbacks, a Jeep Liberty and Jeep Compass, a CR-V, an '09 base model Forester, and an '07 LL Bean Forester. I was surprised to find that I liked the Forester more than the Outback, though I prefer the looks of the Outback. The Forester just had a bigger visibility panel with the larger windows all around the rear. The LL Bean one put me over the edge. Of course I really liked the trim package and moonroof and all that unnecessary (but nice) garbage. I still love to drive the CR-V - it has a sporty zip to it - and the one I was in had wood trim and a moonroof. That was really nice. So I guess the Outback is knocked down a peg or two. I asked Jesus to do so, as I don't want to displease Jesse, but I would really like to be happy with whatever vehicle I end up getting.
There is little hope of getting anything any time soon, though, as our budget is not very big, and creeping slowly along each month. If I want a bare bones anything I stand a better chance, but I'd really like a little luxury in my digs, as I do spend large portions of my life in the car! |

What Type of Homeschooler Are You?
Swiss Family Robinson - If you can grow it, pick it, preserve it, or butcher it, you own it. Otherwise, you do without. You'd prefer to live off-grid from the power company, since you're nearly self-sufficient already. You enjoy unit studies for the way they utilize all facets of life and truly incorporate life and education as a whole, not as separate entities. Take this quiz!
