Bayberry Cottage
Nov. 24, 2009 - 3 years later....
Posted By Krista
In memory of a mother who loved her children and her family,
A wife who loved her husband
and a hostess who wanted to provide help to those in need of the Savior's love.
We miss you Lorrie!

Nov. 17, 2009 - Ashes
Posted By Krista

In the words of Steve Earle:
Now, nobody lives forever
Nothin' stands the test of time
Oh, you heard 'em say "never say never"
But it's always best to keep it in mind
That every tower ever built tumbles
No matter how strong, no matter how tall
Someday even great walls will crumble
And every idol ever raised falls
And someday even man's best laid plans
Will lie twisted and covered in rust
When we've done all that we can but it slipped through our hands
And it's ashes to ashes and dust to dust |

Aug. 20, 2009 - Way to go Dilly
Posted By Krista
Summer reading results are in....Looks like the librarian was right when she told us that Dilly was the only one that turned in a reading contest form all summer.
Were we surprised when we got the call and she won a
Flip Video Camera.....

I am going to have so much fun with it. After all....Who taught her to read and brought her to the library to get her very own card so she could take Dr. Suess home with her?
It was Momma...yours truly, so Yes, I am celebrating with her!
Now, if someone could explain how to add a video to my blog I would much appreciate it..

Aug. 17, 2009 - Hand Pollinating
Posted By Krista
In order to have zucchini by the bushel fulls in Central Oregon
you must hand pollinate these beauties.

Trying to imitate a bee is not as easy as one thinks.....
at least I know there will be zuccinni bread for the freezer.

Aug. 12, 2009 - A Sweet Goodbye
Posted By Krista

I have never felt my heart ever try to burst out of my very being like this before.
It never hurt like this when:
She ran a fever,
She moved away and
said goodbye to her best friend ever,
She fractured her wrist on rollerblades,
She lost her teeth.....
her first week away at camp...
My heart is crying out loud and darn it,
they just don't make
band-aids big enough
to hold the tears for pain like this.
What were we thinking?

What Type of Homeschooler Are You?
Swiss Family Robinson - If you can grow it, pick it, preserve it, or butcher it, you own it. Otherwise, you do without. You'd prefer to live off-grid from the power company, since you're nearly self-sufficient already. You enjoy unit studies for the way they utilize all facets of life and truly incorporate life and education as a whole, not as separate entities. Take this quiz!
