American Girl

American Girl Club

Would you like to be more hands-on when teaching your kids about American History?  Then this club is for you!!!  As the name of the club suggests, we will MOSTLY be utilizing the books and other materials from the American Girl series (no dolls required); however, there will also be experiences that will come from other resources such as visiting the Arlington House at Christmas time, maybe attending a Native American Festival, or how about going to a Civil War ball?  I have been given extended use of tons of American Girl resources by Ms. Deirdre Aycock (Thank you so much!) that includes American Girl craft books, cook books, theater packs, paper dolls, and the accompanying nonfictional books.

By the end of the 2007/2008  "school year", we will have read through the Addy series.  We will take the summer off and start back in the fall for the 2008/2009 "school year".  You can use the summer to catch up.  Please feel free to jump in anytime.

About Everest Academy

Everest Academy believes that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.
