September 12 - Bham ArtWalk
All Day Event - Bham Artwalk is an arts festival that transforms Birmingham's loft neighborhood into an arts district, featuring the work of more than 100 visual artists including glass blowing, mosaics, sculpture, paintings, folk, metal work, and much more. There will also be live musicians, street performers, food and drink vendors, and children's activities. Cost: FREE
October 28 - Ava Maria Grotto
Ave Maria Grotto, known throughout the world as "Jerusalem in Miniature," is a beautifully landscaped, four-acre park designed to provide a natural setting for the 125 miniature reproductions of some of the most famous historic buildings and shrines of the world. The masterpieces of stone and concrete are the lifetime work of Brother Joseph Zoettl, a Benedictine monk of St. Bernard Abbey. Begun as a hobby, with various materials he could find, and infinite patience and a remarkable sense of symmetry and proportion, Brother Joseph re-created some of the greatest edifices of all time. Cost: $5 adults, $4 students 12 and up, $3 students 6 and up.

at Birmingham Museum of Art
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness: American Art from the Yale University Art Gallery offers an unprecedented opportunity to experience American history through more than 230 masterpieces from one of the finest and oldest collections of American art in the world. From the arrival of the first European settlers to the Gilded Age, this major exhibition tells America’s story through paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, furniture, silver, and ceramics from Yale University’s renowned collection. Cost: $6 per person ages 6 and up.

February 17 - Asian Art Docent Led Tour at Birmingham Museum of Art
We will visit the Museum's newly renovated Chinese and Japanese galleries. Cost: $1 per person ages 6 and up
March 17 - Jerry Brown Pottery
Jerry and and wife, Sandra, run a small scale family operation. He still uses a mule to power his clay mill. He continues to use the old glazes - Albany slip, Bristol and ash plus producing many of the old traditional shapes, including churns, pitchers and the face jugs that the Brown family has been making since the turn of the century. His work is a testimony to the vitality and continuity of the Southern pottery tradition. Cost: $4 per person ages 6 and up
April TBA - Art in the Park
This free, outdoor art exhibition festival will take place in Linn Park in downtown Birmingham. Recognized as one of the 12 best art shows in the country, MCAC features artists from all over the country exhibiting and selling their work. A special element to the event is the Imagination Festival for Kids, featuring over 30 interactive art workshops for children. Cost: FREE
