Jan. 13, 2007 - A Poem ~ A Thoughtful Journey
This a poem that I wrote as one of my weekly compositions for school, the topic being Thinking.
A young lady sat a-dozing,
one fine and glorious day.
Her thoughts were drifting on the breeze,
and swept across the bay.
They traveled far, they traveled long.
They brushed a number of faces.
People who the woman loved,
with her kind, female graces.
Her thoughts flew over lands,
where dwelt poverty and despair.
Her eyes were wet, when
thinking of the children playing there.
Closer places fetched the thoughts,
to look upon a battle.
To think of kin, destroying men,
made her small teeth rattle.
The thoughts came back to the woman,
still leaning against a tall tree.
Her eyes were closed but her,
caring thoughts were still flying free.
She allowed them to journey to one more place,
a very worthy destination.
They flew inside the golden gates,
that lead to Him and Heaven.
And there she allowed her thoughts to rest,
letting them dwell with the Lord,
The thoughts became links between the two,
His love and hers, in accord.
