Nov. 10, 2005 - Where did you get that lovely red hair?
I am a redhead. When I was born I had a slight red fuzz on the top of my head. When my mother commented on it, everyone said it would fall out and grow in another color. It didn't, it's still as red as ever!
As I grew older my hair turned into a big red ball of fire. It had curls that went every which direction. My mom pretty much gave up on trying to comb my hair, it was wild!!
Then, one day, I saw my mom cutting her bangs. After she left I went in the bathroom, and you guessed it, I gave myself a hair cut. Now all you readers out there, please keep in mind that I was only five at the time.
My mom was devastated. Even if she couldn't do anything with my hair, she had loved it. We had to go get my hair cut, very short, to cover up what I had done.
My hair has never been the same again. It is fairly straight now, although when it gets humid, my hair does get frizzy.
And of course I get the inevitable question, "Where did you get that gorgeous hair?" I have several answers for that.
1. My Grandma (On my Dads side)
2. My Papafather (Grandpa on my Moms side)
And sometimes when I am feeling very clever I answer
3. God!

Nov. 10, 2005 - Hello from a fellow redhead!

I just laughed when I read the title of your blog today! I also have red hair and have been asked that question so many times! The thing is, I am not sure where I got mine from! My great great grandfather had red hair, but I like your answer - God! I also get called "Red", "Rusty", "Carrotop" ( which are actually green!) and "Ginger". People can always find me in a crowd too! I have very curly hair but I keep it short to keep it out of my way!
It's nice to "meet" you!
Ellen
