Jan. 18, 2008 - Graduation
Okay, I am here to tell you all that a very momentous event is happening in my life this year. I am graduating out of school! Part of me is glad of this, no more dreading that Mommy might get me Saxon math
. More time to knit, right? (Probably not!) The other part of me doesn't want to. I will be the first of our household to graduate. (Parents not incuded. They did graduate) Therefore, all of this is untrod territory for us. In a sense, I will not be little anymore. After I turn eighteen, legally (but we don't care about this), I will no longer be under my parent's jurisdiction. I will be old enough to vote (if I wanted to). I know this sounds silly, but I think I might miss doing school! I might even do a few things, just to not feel left out.
However these thoughts plague me, I am excited about one thing. The homeschool group here, actually has a graduation ceremony, and we have decided to be a part of it. This means that from now, on, we are getting ready for it. Invitations have to be made. Yes, I am making 100 invitations. Senior pictures have to be taken, and bought. (I am planning on doing some of them in some of my costumes!)
I am also singing a duet with one of the other graduates. We are singing Take My Life And Let It Be. I am very nervous about this, as I have never sung on stage with less than thirty other people! Here are the lyrics for the song. Actually we mashed two versions, to get these words.
Take my life and let it be,
consecrated Lord to Thee.
Take my hands and let them move,
At the impulse of Thy love,
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.
Take my voice and let me sing,
always, only, for my King
always, only, for my King.
Take my silver and my gold,
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my moments and my days,
let them flow in ceaseless praise,
let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my will and make it Thine,
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is Thine own,
it shall be Thy royal throne,
it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love my God I pour,
at Thy feet it's treasure store.
Take myself and I will be,
ever, only, all for Thee.
Ever, only, all for Thee.

Oh CONGRATS!! That is so neat. I am so glad you are finished. I feel the same way. I will be so relieved when I don't have to worry about making sure I get everything done I need to.
YES!! I agree. It is so nasty and gross to me when teenagers are all snuggly and lovey-dovey in front of people. It is so immodest and just doesn't need to happen, especially in public.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a great day!!
Love, Prayers, and Blessings,
Amanda

Hello,
I enjoyed reading your post... what a good idea for doing some of your pictures in costume! I might have to do that also... Although I have a twin brother so we will have ours done together.
Oh, I would love to see some of your costumes... could you post them sometime?
Your blog looks so nice... I like how you have done everything...so how are your knitting projects coming?
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Love,
Brielle

OH dear Eyebright, I don't know what plans the Lord has for you in the future, but I know you will be a wonderful young woman as you enter into your 18th year and graduate from school (though we truly never stop learning - and mommy will always be there to offer you wisdom and help you) - instead of spending your time doing school work, this can be a time where you can focus on the Lord and growing in the Spirit. I pray the Lord's hand will be upon you and his grace will protect you as his wisdom guides you.
You are a special person, dear, and I am proud of you and honoured to be your friend (send me a grad card and picture!! haha).
Love and blessings to you!
Jocelny
