Jan. 22, 2008 - Winter Reading Challenge

I am here today to tell you that I am going to participate in the Winter Reading Challenge, hosted by Trish, over at A Joyful Heart.  You can jump in any time, and there is even a prize for a lucky someone if you enter before February 11th.  The challenge ends March 17th, 2008.

Here is my list of books that I want to try and read during the challenge.

1. The Silver Chalice ~ Thomas B. Costain
2. The Grapes of Wrath ~ John Steinbeck
3. Gone With The Wind ~ Margaret Mitchell
4. Princess Acadamy ~ Shannon Hale
5. 100 Cupboards ~ N. D. Wilson
6. Ishmael ~ E. D. E. N.
7. David Copperfield ~ Charles Dickens
8. He Fell In Love With His Wife ~ Edward P. Roe
9. Julie ~ Catherine Marshall
10. Lysbeth ~ H. Rider Haggard
11. Drift House: The First Voyage ~ Dale Peck
12. The Lost Cities: A Drift House Voyage ~ Dale Peck

It is only twelve books, but most of them are very large, and require a lot of concentration.  I can't wait to dive into some of them!

Oooh, this looks interesting! I think I might give it a go too.

I'll be interested to see how 100 Cupboards is. I've heard it might be scary (gulp! I don't do scary!) I'm not sure I'm going to be able to find it though. The library I frequent doesn't have it...but I'll have to do some more looking. In any case, if you don't like it, I won't have to bother, but if you do...I'll probably go insane trying to find it. :-D

Okay, I'm off to make my list.
