Mar. 13, 2008 - No, My Hair is Red, Not Blond
*Note*
This post was not written to hurt any one's feelings, and I have nothing against people with blond hair. You will find out why in the post below. Also, some of my very, very good friends are blond, and I love them dearly.
Though my hair is red, deep down inside, I think I am blond. Before I was born, my Mother prayed that I would have red hair, so God gave a red-headed baby, with the personality of a blond.
I could regale you with tales of how the blond in me shows. I think I will only share three.
I have a friend who lives in a very nice house. She only has one brother, and no sisters, therefore, it is very easy for them to keep their house clean. Well, they have a screen door that is a solid pane of glass from the ground up to the top of the door frame. Twice when I have gone there, I have run into that silly door. The same house, the same door. You would have thought that I would have learned a lesson! Nope. I ran into the same glass door, twice.
The second example happened a while back. We were in the Fred Meyer parking lot, and I saw a license plate frame that confused me. I ran up to Mommy and asked her about it. "Mommy, is that license plate frame supposed to mean something?" I thought it was supposed to be some rude comment or something. It said, "My boss is a Jewish Carpenter". Mommy looked at me as if I had lost my mind. "Ah, Eyebright?" Then it dawned on me. Oh, I felt so stupid!
The third example makes me blush with shame every single time I think of it, or it is alluded to. Last summer, my family was able to have dinner with the Suarezs, and we had a really great time. My younger brother, Kekoa, loves to boast of my sisters, and my own, things. Apparently his aren't good enough to boast about. Well, he started talking about my pink mp3 player. Naturally, Paulie wanted to know about it, and asked me what size it was.
I held up my hands confidently. "Oh, about this long, and this wide." I am very fond of my mp3 player, and said it rather proudly. Paulie said, "No, I meant how many GB's is it?"
I probably blushed then, too. How embarrassing! Of course he meant gigabytes!
As if that wasn't bad enough, after the dinner, and the Suarezs were on their way again, as we were, Kekoa remembered it, and looked at me slyly and said, "So, Eyebright, what size is your mp3 player?" I was taken in like a fool. I confusedly answered, "Well, about yea long, and so wide." Everyone laughed uproariously, as again, my face burned with embarrassment. I had been duped.
Not again, however! Try as they might, my brother and sister can't get me to tell them the size of my mp3 player. Ha, ha!
What I said in the note at the top was true, I have nothing against blonds, I just wish I wasn't one!

Hello Eyebright! :-)
Hehe! Yeah, I've done a lot of "blond" type of stuff too! :-P
I still don't get the Jewish carpenter one... :-P Hehehe!
One time my and my dad were driving by a brick wall, and he said, "How many bricks are in a stone wall?" And I was like, "Oh, probably a lot!" Hehehe! :-P
Well, have a great day!!
In Christ,
Amy :O)

Hmmm... I think all human kind has some "blond" in them! ;-) I've done things like that, too. The incident with the glass door was pretty funny, though! Thanks for the laughs. :-)
By the way, will the H-I-T-Ts be starting again sometime soon? Just checking. :-)

LOL, those are some funny moments! Don't feel so bad though, I am known as the blond of the house around here, even though I have brown hair. :) I do some silly things, lol.
Good day!

Hello again!
Thank you for your comment, and for adding me to your friends list. Yes, I suppose I was the one who emailed Bluejane about the image map :-D. I'm glad to see it worked for you! Your template looks lovely.
I must say that everyone has their blonde moments. My sister, who is most decidedly a brunette, once ran into a glass door like that...only she went through it, and ended up in the emergency room ;-). Now isn't that comforting?? :-D
Thanks for coming by!

Haha! That's too funny! I couldn't tell from your profile pic that you had red hair. Didn't know until you put your senior pictures up. Speaking of which, they look very nice. I especially like the civil war gown!
Thanks for the comment you left me! Is it still too late to ask you for that Anne template? Because I really would love to have it for my HSB blog if you’re willing. It might even motivate me to post there once in awhile. :-)
Have a great day!

Yup, I have those moments more often than I like. Like the time I wasted, like, five minutes of my life trying to open a milk jug. I twisted, and grunted, and strained, and got out the jar opener. Then I discovered that I'd been turning it the wrong way. Aha.

Whoops. Was I not supposed to laugh? Well, I must say that's pretty funny. Your graduation pictures are lovely, and I didn't realize you had red hair until I saw them!
It looks like all is going well. And I hope to be around on a more regular basis!
Until later, Mellie

Just thought I'd add, on looking at your senior pics again, I really like the way you look in the medieval dress. You look as though you actually came out of a medieval painting.
Anyhoo, just my random observation.

How funny! I think everybody has moments like that. ;-)
I've always thought that red hair is very pretty! All of my family has brown hair except my youngest brother. I hope that his will stay red, because it's so cute!

That is very funny! I probably would've said the same thing if someone had asked me how big my MP3 player was. (even though I don't have one...yet!)
I like your blog, the template is very nice!

Oh, the biggest LOLs there can be! I think I may as well be ROFLOL! Not because of you and those stories, but because of how it relates to me as well.
I am officially called the blonde of the church (and I’m a brunette). I have a few stories for you!!
The assistant pastor last year showed me the new room in the church. He went on to tell me that it was called the ‘prophet’s chamber’. I had no idea what that was, so I asked. He said, “Well, it’s where we keep all the money and gold… you know, the profits of the church.” Okay. So how interesting! A whole large room to hold all the money! I couldn’t wait to tell my friend about this! I went back that evening to tell him that I couldn’t wait to tell my friend and he said, “Oh no! no! I was just joking, I thought you knew that!” It was PROPHET'S not PROFITS chamber! Ha ha. How was I to know that?
Also, they all like to pull the blonde jokes on me because it really takes me a minute to get them (any joke for that matter). So, the assistant pastor said, “You tell a blonde a joke Wednesday and she’ll laugh on Sunday.” “What?” said I, really not getting it.
“Come back Sunday and you’ll laugh.” he replied. Okay. I couldn’t wait! What was I going to laugh about? Was he gonna do something weird? The weekend seemed so long because I couldn’t wait to see why on earth I’d be laughing on Sunday.
Well, Sunday came and I wasn’t necessarily the one laughing. I asked him, “Oh by the way, Wednesday you said I’d laugh today… why?” He couldn’t take it. He stormed out of the room laughing, “I gotta go tell my brother this!” So he leaves me in the dark not knowing what on earth was so funny. Finally, after I was explained to me several times, I actually got the joke.
Oh, there are SOOO many other times things like that have happened. I could write a book about them all! So I know how you feel about ‘being a blonde’. Don’t worry, I’m one, too ;)
Just thought I’d share that… lol!
Oh, and thank you for giving me the chance to hurt my eyes! It’s definitely very bright!
I like it! You did a wonderful job!
Have a great weekend!
~Alexandra

I had kind of a blonde moment lately... I just posted about it on my blog if you'd like to stop by! ;-) Actually, it was kind of a 'shared' blonde moment between my sister and I.
I hope that you're having a great day!
