Apr. 30, 2008 - My Graduation Dress
Here are some pictures of the dress that I will be wearing at my graduation ceremony. All of the graduates decided that they wanted to wear caps (so that they could throw them at the end of the ceremony), but NOT gowns. We all also got to pick our own colors, so the ceremony decorations will be vibrant! My hat is pink, so I wanted my dress to match my hat.

The pattern is actually a combined pattern of two 1950's dresses. The first one, a Simplicity pattern, the bodice was not really my style.
So I took the bodice from the second pattern that I liked, a Vintage Vogue pattern. I also raised the back and front of the bodice, because they were too low for my liking.

Yes, this last picture looks rather bleached. They were taken in the front room of my Grandparent's house, which has a very large window. I like it, the dress I mean, and can't wait to show it to everyone who doesn't read my blog. And, no, Jocelyn, this is not my Feelin' Feminine Challenge post. (I much prefer to wear skirts than dresses!)
