Defective Compositions

Aug. 4, 2009 - Colorado to Kansas

Wow!  I can't believe how far behind I am in posting pictures of our trip!  Sorry to all of you who are especially interested in these!

This was a gorgeous sunset we saw on our drive to Denver, Colorado.

The next day we got to go and eat lunch at The Airplane Restaurant.  Daddy was pretty excited about it, and it did turn out to be a neat experience.

Then we got to go meet a very fun family.  You can read more about that particular visit on Bluejane's blog, and Narniagirl's blog.  It was a lot of fun!

Next stop, Dodge City, Kansas!  Yep, we got to visit the town that is famous for Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, Bat Masterson, the OK Corral, and other western tales.

The first native that us kids got to meet was a lovely toad.  It was hanging about our campsite, and we were quite amazed by it's large size.

The following day, we made a short little jaunt downtown to visit the Boot Hill Museum.  This museum displayed all kinds of artifacts, facts, and information from old Dodge City and it's times.

We were in time to see a gunfight reenactment!  Here, the marshal is just hanging out in front of the saloon.

Uh, oh, here comes trouble!

I didn't get any pictures of the actual shooting, but in the end the marshal and the trouble makers kill each other, but one of the bad guys starts to get away, so the General Store Keeper, used her rifle to finish him off.  The end of the story?  The Saloon Keeper complained about having to get a new marshal!

We also got a Wanted poster printed with our last name.  The girl actually used this old printing press to put our name on it.

I'll post the rest of the trip later!
