Feb. 8, 2006 - Mask-Making
This last Saturday, My sister and I went to a mask making class, for our choir. We learned how to make really neat masks.
First, we had to choose what sort of face our mask was going to be. Sis choose to do a unicorn, and I choose to do a troll.
Mrs. Fisher, the teacher, showed us how to shape the mask, and make it 3-D.
On Sis's mask, for the mane of her unicorn, she just took paper, and snipped it with scissors all over. Mrs. Fisher loved it and commented on it quite a bit.
On my mask, to make my troll have lots of winkles, I took construction paper and wrinkled it up.
To make the raised eyebrows, I cut two slits in a small piece of tagboard(which the mask is mostly made of) and pulled the two sides together.
We have not quite finished our masks yet, we will have another class for painting, and I still have a few phisical features to add to my troll.
Here are pictures of our masks.

If you would like to see some of the masks that Mrs. Fisher has made, then you can go check out her website. She has made some pretty amazing masks!
