Defective Compositions

Posted in Having Fun!

Howdy everyone!  First and foremost, I would like it if everyone could please go and look at this really neat blog.  It is a debating blog, for people to learn how to debate, you never know, this may come in handy for defending your beliefs!

I live in Central Oreegone(yes, I spelled it that way on purpose), it's a pretty good place to live.  Here I have friends and family, and a home that I love.

Central Oregon is, you guessed it, smack-dab in the middle of Oregon.  It gives us a good starting place to get to the rest of the state(though it would be better if we were already at our destination).

The flora and fauna give this area it's name, the High Desert.  The plants that grow wild here are the Sagebrush and the Juniper Tree.

There are lots of deer, birds, and rockchucks.  Snakes are around, as well as packrats, but you don't see them much.

The roads are dotted with small farms, small ranches, small old buildings(like the one below), and sagebrush.

We have our county fairs, always with a cowboy theme, and our Buckaroo Breakfast, always with a cowboy meal.

Peterson's Rock Garden is a fun attraction.  You can go and see the amazing miniature rock buildings erected by, who else, Mr. Peterson!  The picture below shows what kind of small buildings I am talking about.

Smith Rock is a fun place to go on a hot summer day.  You are sure to find the small store that carries rock climing gear, and the famous hucklebery ice cream that many central Oregonians are fond of.  This store was shown in the movie Rooster Cogburn, starring John Wayne.

The booming metropolis of Bend is the largest city, with many ritzy buziness districts, such as the Old Mill District.  Bend boasts a population of over 5o thousand citizens.

The numerous smaller towns of the three counties that make up Central Oregon, have long histories, some of which have a few things left over from a bygone era.  Shaniko, is a living ghost town, with the tiny population of about 30 people.

Almost every building in Shaniko is a museum of some sort, and you can start and finish your sightseeing tour in only a few hours.

Well, do you have an overwhelming desire to come and check this place out?  It's okay if you don't, because I don't either!

By the way, does anyone else on Homeschool Blogger live in or around Central Oregon?

Now for your study questions....
