What to do.......
I'm thinking it is best for Sarina to wait another year before we officially start "school"  Why do I think this??  I'm not sure if it is because she is resistant and
I don't want to deal with it, or if she truly isn't ready.  I don't want to hold her back and have her be behind her peers.  I'm not sure what to do.....  Her speech teach is pushing for me to start in the fall.  She says she is definetly ready.  She will be going to the PS every day 30 min a day for speech services.  They are INSISTING on a group setting so she has social interaction with peers.  Like I keep her in a bubble.....   I'm against a group setting as I don't think she will progress as well in that setting as she would 1 on 1.  She is so far  behind that she really needs the focus on her.  We shall see how that pans out.

I think I just need to relax and make things more fun.  She does really well when it is fun.  Who doesn't??  I like things much better when they aren't a drag.

You know, I would wait to do anything 'formal'. With her still only being four, I would simply do Before FIAR or Vol. 1 of FIAR with her and keep it very short, fun, and simple. You'll be amazed at how much she'll pick up just from this. We've been a FIAR family for over 4 years now and I can testify that it won't seem like it at the time, but they will learn more than you ever would have thought to teach them at such a young age!

Listen to your momma heart and trust your instincts. Of course people at a P.S. are going to try to get you to 'start' her now, and if you'll give them control of her, even better (in their book). You know best, go with what you feel.

I agree you know her the best, follow your heart. We are loving our mix of B4FIAR and other stuff. I had one with speech problems and taking the pressure off worked the best for her.
