• Oct. 19, 2006 - Photo of Bear Scat

I took this photograph on a walk in our neighbourhood. It is one of a few deposits left behind by a bear, probably a Black Bear. We came across this after meeting up with a man walking on the trails with a rifle. That was a little more worrying to us than meeting with a bear; after all, what if he'd mistaken us for bears? He was an older gentleman and not trigger-happy, fortunately.

Being a true homeschooling family

...We took time to examine the exteriour of the bear scat. From our observations we were able to determine that the bear had been bulking up on crabapples from trees in neighbourhood yards. Ah well, I figure that a photograph is fairly innocuous... I know of another homeschooling family who actually laminated pieces of bear scat!
