Feed Your Faith
Dateline: Jan. 25, 2007
"New Edition" to the blogging world...
Well, here I am. One of the last blogging holdouts has finally joined the elitist world of bloggers. I've been told that all the cool people blog, and since I can't blaze my own trail, I decided to follow everyone else. In all seriousness, I've been giving a lot of thought to my first blog topic. I could write about the wonderful (partyoffive) in which I make up one tiny, somewhat secondary piece. (isn't that what dads become after we have kids) I have found that I am no longer Mike; I am Caleb, Bekah, and Elisa's dad. I could write about the beautiful state of Tennessee where I currently live. I could write about my friends. But as I sit down at this screen with a blank canvas that no one will look at, I am going to write about my current passion: Feed Your Faith.
Feed Your Faith is a ministry that I started almost a year ago. It has consumed most of my extra curricular time (after work, family, and church). The mission of Feed Your Faith is to bring the best Christian speaker to the Knoxville area, open these events to the public, then donate the proceeds to local ministries. Speakers like Greg Koukl and Lee Strobel. Ministries like Second Harvest Food Bank and Compassion Coalition. March 22nd, 2007, Lee Strobel will be in Knoxville, TN. He will be "on air" at Joy 62 from 7-8am and at Love 89 from 8-8:45am. He will then make his way to Cedar Springs Christian store on N. Peters Rd. for a book signing from 2-3:45pm. His day will conclude as he speaks at Grace Baptist Church on Oak Ridge Highway at 6:30pm. Lee will be speaking on the topic "Case for Christ", the title of his New York Times Bestseller.
For more information about this spectacular day, visit www.feedyourfaith.org. We would love to see you there. If your church would be willing to display posters or promote this event internally, please e-mail me at mike@feedyourfaith.org.
I know this is not the typical first blog post. However, if a blog is a place to tell about what is going on in your life, then this is the perfect first post for me. CommentsJan. 26, 2007 - Untitled Comment
