Hello my fellow country-men! Oh, perhaps ye have not heard of Fæoras? Well, I do hope you shall enjoy this blog then! I shall do my best to update daily with new sagas...or as you are used to calling them, I don't know why though, chapters!
As I currently do not have the first saga done.....Oh! well perhaps I should just call them chapters...that way you will understand me better! *clears throat* As I was saying....As I currently do not have the first CHAPTER done, I shall post an excerpt from it! It is below!
“Help! Fire! Somebody get me out here! Help!” Oswald yelled through the crackling of the flames within the cell and without. “Fire!”
Within a few moments the guard came quickly to the cell door. The guard eyed him unsurely and paused for a moment. The flames spread suddenly to a pile of straw in one corner of the cell and flew up into flames. Oswald stepped back quickly and barely missed the flames.
“You’re going to hang me tomorrow, but I beg you...do not let me have this death!” he spoke in a choked voice, as his eyes began to tear up from the smoke. The guard within himself had always liked Oswald some, and so took a key from his pocket and unlocked the door.
“Here! Take this!” he said handing a bucket of water to Oswald. “Get to work!”
Oswald gladly took the water and dumped it out upon the flames. “There’s water in the barrel in the next room.”
**********
A man stood leaning against one of the posts of a door. Oh, what was he doing?! Oswald did nothing! Nay! He had deceived the captain, then came back after he was told to leave! He had been caught about to kill Captain Haraldur. What better reason to hang him a traitor’s death? But Oswald was so close to him! He had loved him as a brother, if not more! Hung? Oswald hung? And tomorrow! Arden could not bare the sight of his dear friend...hanging from the gallows! Arden’s eyes began to tear up, as hard as he tried to stop them. How would he bare it if Oswald were no longer there for him?
**********
Oswald rushed to the room told to him, and dropped the bucket. Upon a shelf, near the barrel, lay his sword and weapons. He quickly strapped the sword to his side and the dagger like-wise.
He crept quietly towards the entrance to the prison. The door had but one guarding it, his back turned. Oswald looked around the room for another door. He turned around and moved towards a hall, which lead to another part of the prison.
“Oswald!” Oswald turned quickly to see Arden facing him with a pale face. “Oswald what are ye doing!” he asked worriedly.
Oswald walked over to Arden, “Arden! I need to get to the Captain! Please let me through! Ye can hang me if ye wish...just let me warn him about something else I know about the enemy!” he said nearly begging.
Arden had no idea what to do. Was he to just let him go? What if he escaped! No! He would never do that! Oswald was too trust-worthy to do so. And then, how could he see him hung?!
Arden sighed deeply. “All right!” he spoke stepping out of the way of the door....knowing that he was disregarding his captain’s orders. “Go! But wait!” he said stopping Oswald. “Be careful! Please!” the last of which he spoke with a choked voice. Oswald nodded and walked out the door. He stopped right out side the door and turned.
“Arden! I never meant for this to happen!”
“I know! Go!”
Oswald walked back to his friend and put his arms around him, as the two hugged each other...not knowing if they would ever see each other again.....
