I have so enjoyed watching you grow up and become such a lovely and loveable person through your mother's emails and photos. It is sad that families have to live so far from each other these days. It bought tears to my eyes when I saw the gift of your hair. Such a lovely gift. Hoping to see you at Christmas. Remember, even though we live far apart and don't get to see each other, I love you and am so proud that you are my great grandaughter.

Like you, I decided to donate my hair to Locks of Love about two years ago. I needed to grow mine out quite a bit to do so, but I thought, "My hair grows fast -- no problem!" It took quite a bit longer than I thought it would, so it was a bit more of a "sacrifice" than I expected (although nowhere near the sacrifice of kidney and bone marrow donors, or our soldiers who give their lives for our freedom, of course). Right before I cut it in July '05, it took so much longer to dry and fix, and got so heavy in a ponytail. I just made it to the 10" mark when I had it cut. So I applaud you at your age, for being so thoughtful and giving toward others. I pray that you will keep this attitude throughout your life.
