Intro: Never Leave Home Without It (Marketing Credit: American Express) Diapers, bottles, wipes, bibs, pacifiers, extra clothing, cell phone, PDA, ipod, iphone, credit or debit cards … what would you never leave home without?
Assignment: In the memory verse Jesus tells us that He will never leave us, not even at the end of the world. He assures us in this verse that He will be with us and that means through everything we go through in life. I thought it would be interesting to write about the things we would never leave home without. For some it might be baby needs, others it might be a gym bag and bottle of water, and for some it might be your Bible and a notepad or small journal, maybe even your son or daughters favorite blankie! I’d like for you to write about something that you would never leave home without.
Memory Verse: Matthew 28: 20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.
You know there are the things that we always have. For me being in a wheelchair they are much the same, but I don't carry a 'purse' as I need my hands. I have a little bag that is attached just under the seat. In that is my wallet for health cards, for Faith and I, driver licences. I try and make sure that I ALAWAYS have a charged cell phone on me(there have been times when the cell phone doesn't make it in the house, as I have an indoor and outdoor wheelchair, so I don't hear hear beeping of a low battery, and have had a dead phone) See being in a wheelchair(w/c) having a cell is so important for a number of reasons, I have been walking and have blown a tire on the w/c, and had to call for help. I don't carry a spare, tube and tire, . Also when in the van driving, if for what ever reason the van stopped working, I can not unload the van with out help. Unloading the w/c is on the driver side at the sliding door, which have me unload in the road. When I was in two minor accidents, I was not able to get out of the van, both times I had to call my husband to come and see the damage of the van. For me my phone is way more then to chat with friends.
Now for the fun stuff. I have a small purse Bible, that I keep in my backpack style camera bag. I try and make sure that these two things are always on me, I love getting those special moments on film, and getting the Glory of God frozen in time. I like having my Bible, I pray that one day I will have total boldness to witness to a complete stranger. I have people always coming to me and saying things about how strong I am, or they are surprised to see how the w/c is loaded into the van, or they comment about me being a mom, on and on with different things like that. I always tell them that with out God none of this would be possible, the strength wasn't and isn't mine, it's His. I am praying that one day this will open a door for someone? I also make sure that Faith and I have water, don't you just cringe, at the price of a bottle of water. I have a carrier on the w/c, and I have a carrier for Faith. I have a rule and it does include her water, I don't carry the things she chooses to bring from home, mostly her stuff animal. If we are on a long outing then her water bottle carrier ables me to put it on the w/c. The other reason that I keep a Bible on me, there are MANY times when I can not get into the building with family or friends and one thing that I don't like is that wasted time, then I can spend that time in God's Word.
This is my camera backpack and purse Bible.

This is my 'purse' under the seat and my water bottle holder.

This is Faith and I's water bottle and Faith's carrier, she can wear it over her shoulder. This is how I carry my backpacks and Faith's water bottle when she can't.

Mark 10:27 (NKJV) But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” |
