This spring and summer the girls and I studies caterpillars and butterflies.  I ordered our caterpillars and we went to work watching them grow and change.

We fed them cotton balls saturated with sugar water.  My family didn't believe that this would work.  I kept reassuring them that they would live on these sugar watered cotton balls.  They were delighted to watch them feed off of the cotton balls.

Finally the day came to release them.  The girls said good bye to our five painted ladies as they flew off.  It was a beautiful study!
