Yesterday our family made it's annual trip to the Iowa State Fair. It was hot and humid- 93 degress and it was crowded! We didn't do our usualy 12 hour run of it though, my husband needed to work and it is to exhausating for Grace to do 12 hours of the fair.
Here's a few pictures of why our state fair is the BEST state fair, you shouldn't miss it!

Animals..lots of fun animals. Farm kids in Iowa love to show their animals. Here we are in the sheep barn...my husband loves to tease the black sheep!

The big boar! We didn't see the big steer, I'll add that to my list of must-sees when we return on Monday evening.

Face painting, this is a low-cost and fun thing for the girls.

On to the farm....the girls love going thru the Farm Town @ the fair.

Dad does a great job leading us through the fair crowd!

Liz on the big slide.

Meeting Clifford!

Yummy corndog!

Spin Art!
After all of this fun, it was time for the concert. I've seen a few Christian artist in concert, this was one of my favorite. It was loud and rockin., But I appreciated this concert because these two men have had their faith tested by the fire's of trials and come out the other side refined. Their songs and testimony were encouraging and the worship was great.

A final note, my husband just returned from setting up chairs at church for a funeral. The funeral is for a 16 year old girl who died in a car accident. She was driving on a gravel road and went in the ditch, flipping the car and killing her. My husband reflected when he came home how fragile life is. I'm sure Stephen Curtis Chapman would quickly agree.....so dance with your Cinderellas and enjoy each passing moment looking to our future with hope.
