Fall Camping Pictures...
The weather was beautiful. We had so much fun. The girls did sleep in my parents camper, where they have heat! We enjoyed our time, walking in the leaves, viewing the Mississippi River Valley, going to a craft fair, flea market, making smores, and tons of nature.
Here is Liz's friend....Chippy. He had dug up into the fire ring for our camping spot, his underground burrow went from there up to a large oak tree. Liz and Grandpa had a great time going to a corn field and gather Chippy some corn.

One morning my husband and I went for a walk, alone. It was early morning and the fog had settled in the Mississippi river valley. My husband toke some wonderful pictures as we walked in the woods. It was a great time. Quiet and lots of beautiful crunchy leaves under our feet. We also enjoyed the rewards of being in shape. There was a big incline to walk up to Maple Woods Ridge. We could have never made this a year ago.

Isn't this spider web cool!!!!

The girls playing in the leaves.

The rolling hills of Iowa.
I have some leaves for us to begin making leaf rubbings.
We'll also be going on a nature walk all together, at a local woods.
I bought this book, I believe HarmonyArtMom recommended.
It has a nature activity for every day of the year. Wonderful stuff.
I bought it cheap at half.com.

~~~~wishing you a weekend filled with warm memories and
His loving grace,
Linda
Thank you for the book suggestion! I really need something to work on nature more. I'm really not much of an outdoor person, but I do love the fall and this would be a really good time to get me going outside more :) I was able to buy it at half.com for $1.99..woo hoo!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for your comment on my blog. :)
Your vacation sounds like it was wonderful! That spider web is just beautiful. The Lord’s amazing outdoors, fun creatures and your family … what more is needed? :)
You asked me about roses on my blog … we have several bushes, 10 in the backyard and 8 out front. The rose pictures at the top of my blog are from our yard (the other flowers too). My second oldest daughter loves to take pictures of the blooms so we probably have 100s if not 1000s.
Have a wonderful, blessed weekend!
I enjoyed your pictures so much! I'm originally from Wisconsin -- but have lived in Florida now for over 20 years. I miss real autumn so much! What a wonderful time of year! And camping in that is fun, too. We used to do that when I was a kid. Thank you for sharing!
Linda, how beautiful!!! I am jealous of your camping trip. We just didn't make it this year and I am sad about that. But there is always next year, right?
Thanks for sharing your trip. I loved the pic of the spider web.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm so glad your Awana group does the shoeboxes. It is such a fun and rewarding project.
Where in Iowa do you live? When my husband was in seminary (Midwestern in KC, MO) he pastored a church in Blockton, Iowa located just across the MO border. Everyone was so good to us there! Now we're back in our homestate of MS. Quite a contrast in weather. I remember driving to Blockton on October 10th (my mom's birthday which is why I remember it) and seeing snow flurries!!!! I was astounded. Today, the 17th of October, the high is supposed to be 87!
I hope you have a blessed day!
Your camping pictures are awesome!!
[There was a big incline to walk up to Maple Woods Ridge] I had to chuckle when I read this. Ron and I got married in Minnesota in July of 2001. After our honeymoon, Ron, Marissa and I drove home from Minnesota to Washington state. We stopped in the Black Hills on the way. We decided to hike on a trail. The information on the trail told us, "Some strenuous areas." Marissa asked, "What does strenuous mean?" Well, by the end of the night... she knew.
Awesome photos!
The spider's web is amazing! We had some interesting looking spiders around here which I tried to take a picture of and couldn't get them to be focused. Someday, I hope to take a photography class, not today.
Blessings,
Angel
