Zambia, Africa...Part 1
Probably the first question someone may ask is why did my husband go to Zambia, Africa on a missions trip? There are a lot of places in the world that one can go, but why Zambia?
Three years ago, during our church's missions emphasis we met Lewis Nelms. He is the director of an organization called Gospelink. You can read about them here Gospelink.org. He started this organization in 1998 with the idea that it would be much better to train national pastors than to send missionaries to a country. Through Gospelink we are able to provide support for the national pastor and his family. There are about 200 national pastors in Zambia.
Our family is very blessed to sponsor this gentlemen,

Pastor Vasco Tembo, his wife and their nine children ranging in age from 6-20 years old.
Pastor Tembo actually lives in north-east Zambia near the Malawi border. He traveled one day by bus to come to the bible college. Our church has committed to helping to build a bible college for the national pastors. It is located about twenty miles south of the capital of Zambia, Lusaka. Our church has a "compound" which they are working on. This year the team built the staff house. Here are a few pictures of our church team working with Zabian and Malwai men building:

Pouring the cement floor.

Tomorrow I'll share the completed building. Plus the building that my husband slept in.
~~~Doing my best,
trusting the Lord with it ALL,
Linda
Why Zambia? Why not? :-) Everywhere is a field -- they are white unto harvest.
Thanks for going and sending.
I love to see people helping the less developed countries build facilities and sponsor their own pastors.
Also, I am grateful that the tornado missed you and your house. We have recently moved into OK and are a lot more tornado aware this time because we had driven through Americus, GA a few months ago right after their thunderstorm.
We use the internet a ton to watch for tornado warnings- we don't have any tv right now.
Blessings, Terrill
A team from our church in Virginia went to Zambia a couple of summers ago and I can't be sure, but I think it was with the same people. Pastor Tembo sounds really familiar, and I think it was through Gospellink, maybe not, I don't know. But still, it's very cool that your husband got to go. I'd love to go on a Missions Trip someday!
