~~Thankful Thursday~~

My #1 thing I'm thankful for this Thursday is something that goes back to Thanksgiving.  Last Thanksgiving day I stood in an ICU room with my cousin, looking at her dad(my dad's brother) on a ventilator.  He was weak and very ill, he could respond to her voice only by barely opening his eyes.  By Sunday, the ICU nurses were beginning to talk to the family about taking him off the medications and letting him die.  Our two younger daughters were with my parents all weekend, they prayed each night at bedtime for Uncle Kenny.  My husband and I prayed, a lot of people prayed.  It is a miracle that today he is off all of the medications, and the ventilator!  He is healing and on his way to rehab to regain his strength.  I am thankful for God's healing power!

Secondly, I am thankful for other people's gratitude!  My husband and I have been blessed this last week with people showing their gratitude to us for our work.  Both of us our grateful for the occupations that the Lord has provided us.  We enjoy our work, not everyone can say that.

Last week my husband got a call from one of his customer's asking him if he could go to the meat locker and pick up a quarter of beef that was there for us.  The customer raises organic beef cattle, we've enjoyed this meat for several years.  He was giving us this the quarter of beef, all we were to pay is the processing fee.  This was a gift for my husband's work this year.  We were grateful for this present.  Then the customer later called and asked my husband to come to his house and pick up the meat.  They had paid for the processing fee, too!

The meat in our freezer.

Over the last two months I carried for a little boy whose parents were Godly, young adults.  They both had been homeschooled and his dad is in seminary.  I was blessed each week to receive sweet notes from this little boy's mommy.  The Lord used them to teach me and validate in me a lot of things, and to dig into God's word to answer some questions specifically about holidays(that will be another post).  Anyway, those little handwritten notes were such a blessing.  Then this Sunday I took care of another little boy, his parents again were such a blessing to me.  When I went to give report outside of his room I saw a yellow piece of notebook, it was a note from this little boy's mom thanking me for taking care of him.

I wanted to take a picture of remembrance for me.

I am very grateful for the Lord's lovingkindness extended through these people.

Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Psalm 106:1

First before I forget, the link you left had the word school misspelled in the ulr (could you come back and fix it, I am not able to. I am only able to delete it and I don't want to do that).

That was awesome about the meat, that will last a long time. Thank goodness we don't always listen to doctors.

Thanks so much for participating.

Aren't we so glad that we serve a a God who works when we think there is no hope left. God still answers prayer. Our prayers are with you all. Blessings, Traci

You really do have a lot to be thankful for. I enjoyed reading you TT today. It feels really good to receive notes. I love it to, even something scribbled on plain paper. It's the thought that counts right? Thanks for your post. God Bless!

Praises going up for God's miraculously healing your uncle.

We get free meat all the time from Ron's family. I don't know how we would manage groceries without it. Isn't a full freezer the best blessing ever?
