To celebrate my dad's 79th birthday, we surprised my parents and met them camping at Red Rock Lake in Knoxville, Iowa.

Can you believe my mom is 70? I can't believe it, she looks and acts so young.
Camping during the week is the best, I believe, because there are no other people there! We enjoy one of the best camping trips we've had for a long time. I was a bit worried because the AC broke on our camper. But the Lord provided two days of cool, dry air. Nothing like the HOT and humid days we are experiencing this weekend. Living in Iowa you have to love your AC or enjoy humidity, did I mention HOT humidty?
One of the things that made this camping trip a better experience for me is that we actually camped. The boat motor needs tuned up and isn't in top working order, so we didn't boat. Instead we stayed close to our campsite and "camped". This means relaxing in our camp chairs, taking walks and playing games together. This summer's game is UNO. We enjoy playing UNO because even Grace can join in and strategize UNO!

Two Serious Campers, they do their job diligently!

Jennifer enjoyed spending time outside and particularly on this blanket. She let Grace "do" her hair for what seemed like hours and also spent time reading.

My wonderful husband, without him we'd never go camping. One of my friend's would love to own a camper and camp with her family, but her husband says it is to much work. I agree, without my husband's hard work we'd never be able to camp. I am grateful that the Lord has blessed us with this awesome leader of our home.

~Abiding in His loving grace,

You are right! Your parents look very young! lad your family was able to spend time with them.
