~Just Give Me Jesus~

Posted in Celebrations

This weekend I will have the privilege of participating in a life changing event.  Anne Graham Lotz does very few events in the United States.  This Friday evening and Saturday she will be in Des Moines, Iowa for her "Just Give Me Jesus" event.  I am thankful for three ladies for my local church, who had a vision, prayed, and obeyed God.  Lives will be changed and the Lord will be glorified.

Friday evening I am going to be a counselor on the floor.  Saturday, Jennifer and I will be going to the all day event.  I do not know which I am more excited about.  Being able to pray with an individual who has just accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior for the first time.  Or taking my daughter to an event that will forever change her walk with her Lord.

We appreciate your prayers.   One thing I love about her AnGeL minsitries is intensive planning and follow up bible studies that are already in place to start soon.

This is a video which gives a glimpse of what this weekend's event will be like.

~Bible Giveaway~

Posted in Celebrations

My friend Mikki @ Under HIS Construction is having a Bible give away contest.

This is the link to her contest which ends tomorrow:  ClagettsFlStyle

The prize is a new Joyce Meyer's study bible.

This is a picture of the Bible I currently use.

 1. How old is your Bible? My current bible is about 15 years old
    2. Did someone give this Bible to you or where did you get it? I bought it for myself when I was teaching Precept Bible studies.
    3. What version is this Bible? New American Standard
    4. Do you mark your Bible? How.. highlighting, underlining? both

5. Where is your favorite spot to read your Bible? my nest spot in the front living room
    6. Do you use tabs, memory, or do you sing the Bible Book Name song to find the books of the Bible? memory usually, some of the minor prophets I cheat with my tabs
    7. Have you had to tape together any parts of your Bible? not this Bible, yet.
    8. What's your favorite verse at this time? Matthew 28:20
    9. What's your favorite verse of all time? Proverbs 3:5-6

10. Do you have any special memories that include this Bible?

This Bible is like a comfy, warm sweater to me.  Some mornings I have been weary and feeling spiritually cold.   As I read it has warmed me and brought sweet comfort to my spirit.  It will be very tattered and torn before I will give it up.  If I win Mikki's Bible contest, I will have to save her Bible.

~Blog Party~

Posted in Celebrations

5 Minutes for Mom is having there annual Blog Party!

I'm not entering in the contests. My blog is in the middle of a remodel, and looks a little rough.

But I would LOVE for everyone to visit EspeciallyHeather's blog during the Blog Party!  Heather is one amazing faith-filled lady who is fighting brain cancer.  She is near 1,000,000 hits on her stat counter.  I think it would be so cool if everyone would go to her site and leave a comment.  Show her our support!  What if she could get 1,000 comments on her blog party entry!

~Feet Washing~

~Friday Show N' Tell~

This is a little different type of Show N' Tell, but I've been wanting to post about it.  Last year around Easter I was struggling with a little bit of sibling rivalary in our home.  I long for our daughters to understand what being a servant of Christ is.  Even as there mother I don't actually "get" it like I should!  I had participated in a foot washing ceremony once, during a solitude retreat.  It was a very moving experience.

Last year on Maundy Thursday, I decided it would be a connecting experience for the girls.  I half expected them to laugh during the whole thing.  We read the biblical account, in John 13:5-20.

Then

They are already asking if we are going to do this again.  This year we are going to add the Lord's supper after the feet washing.

Linda

~Friday Show N' Tell~

Posted in Celebrations

Join Mary @ her blog for other great Friday Show N' Tells.

We did have tea this week, it was fun!  But I forgot to take pictures.  So I'm sharing another fun memory this week.

Last Saturday our Awana's had their racing of pinewood cars, called the Awana Grand Prix.  This was the first year that our church allowed the Cubbies to race also.  Dad and the girls put together their racing cars!

Grace is all about pink!  She had pink supergirl stickers on it!

The day of the race everyone was excited!

Elizabeth with her friend watching the race.

Grace got 1st place out of three racers.

Liz got 3rd place in her Spark race.

They each got McDonald's Happy Meal gift certificates, which was one of their favorite parts.

Hebrews 12:1
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

This Friday I'm sharing our favorite Valentine's Day books.

Our latest lapbooking unit study is The Valentine Cat.  The girls are loving it.   Although this book so far is not really about Valentine's Day.  Instead it is about a delightful cat and his life.

This is our book for next week.  I can't wait, anything by Eve Bunting and Jan Brett is great.

This is another fun Valentine book, it teaches about friendship and sharing love.  Mr. Whiskers, Grandma and Maggie are wonderful characters in these books.

Gail Gibbons does a nice job of sharing the history behind Valentine's Day in this book.

Next week I'll share our Valentine Favorite Fun.

~Blessings,

Linda

~Show N' Tell Friday~

Posted in Celebrations

This week I wanted to show n' tell our tea time, but Monday left me to wiped out to.  I spent Tuesday catching up on school work after character issues on Monday.  Next though I'll share it!

For this week I'm going to share a beautiful statue that my husband brought back from Africa.

It is hand-carved, my husband purchased it from the gentleman who made it.  He paid $2, a small bottle of hand soap, a cheap pocket knife, and a package of gum for this.  He carried it in his back pack, wrapped in a sweat shirt on the 26 hour plane ride home.
